First the pluses, as they say in real estate, location, location, location. This hotel is right next to the London Eye and Jubilee Park. It is around the corner from Waterloo Station, and Waterloo Tube station. We walked to the train when we left London, with our suitcases in tow. You can walk a little further and cross the footbridge over the Thames River and then Trafalgar Square, where the National Gallery is located, is just about 3 blocks further. You can go to the right when you exit the hotel, walk a block turn right and walk across Westminster Bridge to Big Ben and Parliament. Oh, then Westminster Abbey is just a block from Big Ben. We easily walked to Hyde Park and Buckingham Palace. Oh, and the Tate Gallery and Piccadilly Circus is only 4-5 blocks from Trafalgar square. You get the picture.
Breakfast is incredibly good, Eggs, oatmeal (porridge), toast, pastries, ham, fresh fruit, juices, cereals, yogurt, tomatoes, Cappuccino machine, Breakfast was great. The room was a decent size, and the internet while not completely free, was very fast. You get 30 minutes free per day, but you can buy for a nominal cost (10 British Pounds for 7 days) unlimited WiFi. It worked and worked very fast. It also worked for my I-phone for the same price (no additional charge).
The place could use an updating, It was kept clean, but the carpet is tired and needs replacement, as is the woodwork. The floors are loose and need to be tightened down so they don't creak. Room was clean and the bath was nice. Like many London hotels, this one does not have A/C, however the windows open and it is not generally a necessity in London.
All in all, this was a pleasant stay, we started with a great breakfast, and were convenient to everything, walking distance to much of the must see things.
