“Premium Service in a budget hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013

Over the past few years i have stayed in more than a dozen different London hotels. I began by using sites such as laterooms.com and picked hotels based on savings (im a sucker for a bargain) but it seems to me that its a lot harder these days to get the same great deals i used to.

Because of these deals i have been lucky enough to stay in some very nice hotels, although now i finally sit down to document some of my experiences i find myself picking this one out of the many to write about first. Not because it is the fanciest, the best value or even the nicest but because its quite simply my favourite.

I still search the hotel websites for the bargain of the century but more and more i end up back on Premier Inns website booking this one. The location is absolutely perfect for sightseeing, the staff are friendly (i have a particular soft spot for them since they helped me one night i found myself in London with nowhere to go, two receptionists at the Borough Market branch were extremely patient and helpful and i havent forgotton that kindness to this day), and the rooms are to the same great standards as all premier inns are. After playing hotel roulette so many times there is definately something to be said for knowing what youre going to arrive to.

Yeah there are cheaper alternatives but the prices they advertise are "honest". They dont quote a room for £500 just so they can say its reduced when they charge £150 and even if you cant take advantage of their excellent saver rates or advance booking discounts at least you can see what youre paying for which is definately not always the case.

Location of this hotel was perfect, right behind the London Eye. 10 Minutes walk from either Westminster or Waterloo Underground, 5 minute walk to the Thames Clippers or just walking direct from the hotel, you are never far from any of the sights. Express check-in was great and checking out was very swift too. Eat as much as you like breakfast had excellent choice from variety of cereals, fresh chopped fruit, dried fruit, yogurts, jams, toast, muffins, croissants and full english. Variety of teas and fresh coffee's and juices, something for everyone. We were four adults and one 10 year old. Would definitely stay again.

I was in London on business and chose this hotel for its location, less than 5 minutes walk from my meeting - (wonderful!) and breakfasts are good, as I have found in all Premier Inns I've stayed in. Maybe it's just me, but the easiest way to check in is by using the automatic system, which is like an ATM, but there is also a small desk where you can get the personal I prefer.
The staff are friendly and helpful which I especially noticed when they were dealing with guests from overseas.

Room Tip: Book well in advance if you want a room overlooking the Thames.

While the break is fresh in my mind , I thought that I would review my stay .
Personally this is a great value stop over for a family of four , great position right on the Thames .
£152 per night for a family room , £8.95 for breakfast and kids under 16 eat free is super value .
Staff are very nice and eager to please .
Having ventilation in bathroom to remove condensation and also heating in the bathroom would have meant I awarded top marks .
But would stay again in a jiffy regardless .

Room Tip: My room was 501 it overlooked the london eye park, but view was obscured .. Nice enough though

Just returned from a nice 3 night stay at this hotel. Booked it on recommendation from friends, and we were impressed with everything. On arrival (walked it from Euston, seemed a good idea at the time and a nice day!), we noticed the automatic check-in process, simply insert the credit card, tap in the reference number and room keys are dispensed. The room (403) was a large family room and suited our needs perfectly, i.e. somewhere to shower and sleep! It overlooked Jubilee Gardens which was nice also, especially the trees lit up at night. We enjoyed the "Premier Breakfasts" and all 4 of our party certainly sampled what was on offer, everything was cooked to perfection. We enjoyed dinner 2 out of our 3 nights there also, the Duck Parcels for starters are a must, and the 3 course dinner plus drink for £22.99 was excellent value, which also included a free Premier Breakfast thrown in! The staff were very helpful, extremely polite, and attended to your every need, whatever it may be. The beds are very comfortable and I defy anyone to complain of no sleep! The hotel has a 'quiet time' policy from 2200hrs to 0700hrs and we certainly didn't get disturbed by any noise. Enjoyed the sights of London from a hotel which seems central to most things. Top Tip - if you intend on going on the London Eye keep your train tickets (if travelling by rail of course!) and hit breakfast at the hotel no later than 0800hrs (gets busier after that), then make your way to the ticket office by the riverside by around 0920hrs to start queueing. As visitors you can get 2for1 tickets (print the vouchers before arrival). The ticket office opens at 0930hrs, we did this and all four of us got on the London Eye for £38 all in, we were the second group on when it opened just before 1000hrs. We noticed later on it was heaving and the queues seemed endless! Check-out of the hotel was nice and simple, handed the key cards to a member of staff and left. Enjoyed the hotel that much that we are going to be booking again for the October half-term to see the sights we missed this time!

Room Tip: Room 403 overlooks Jubilee Gardens

I unfortunately had to cancel our booking due to One Direction changing their date of concert. I always try and stay there on my visits to London. The staff are exceptional, always very helpful and caring, especially to the children. It is always lovely and clean and the food is good and so well presented. When I have to phone, the staff are always so courteous . Looking forward to my next stay. Carry on the good work
