“Very disappointing!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013 via mobile

From what i had read, I expected our room would be freshly renovated but it was very old and the shower terrible! The breakfast service seemed quite an effort to the staff. Good location but for a family room, next time I would stay at a nearby hotel instead.

This place is awesome. Very easy to get around to all the major London attractions and just across from the international train station so if you are catching the euro star it is very convenient.
We have stayed in a few different types of rooms here - the 4 share is much more spacious but the 6 share has its own bathroom and an aircon (the rooms can get hot with a fair few people).
Breakfast is good, but just across the road (in the train station) is a Marks and Spencer's which have fruit salads etc for a bit cheaper and are much better if you're health conscious.
The wifi here works well - best connection I had the entire trip but only works on the ground and first floor. It's free if you are a YHA member though!
The rooms are clean, the bathrooms are a bit old but functional. All in all a great hostel with friendly and helpful staff (a bag was lost on our flight and they helped us in any way they could, including ringing the airline).
I would defiantly stay here again! :)

Our party consisted of 2 seniors, myself and my 3 children (aged 10, 9 & 6). We had a six bedded family room with private shower & toilet. There were 3 bunk beds, surprisingly very comfortable. The room was spotlessly clean, ok a little tired in some areas but all clean. The bedding was also clean so no probs there. Super friendly & lovely staff on reception. We had a room at the back on the first floor so no great problem with noise.
The cafe was fine, well priced & again very clean.
Excellent location, having lived in central London for over 10 years in the past I wanted a location with good travel links etc.
The only downside for us was the room was unbearably hot. You couldn't open the window so it was very hot and stuffy. Not usually a problem in England I know!
Would definitely return. It's not luxurious but it really is great for a few days on a budget!

This is a really nice place to stay. It's right by the underground, and international train station kings cross st. Pancras and only a minutes walk to a bus that'll take you straight to the city centre.

On my arrival a staff member went out of his way to help me find a room and I greatly appreciated his help. The front desk is also a great place to ask for advice about the city land it's many attractions. the rooms are very clean and tidy which is a relief in hostels. there are two common areas in the hostel - one on the main floor and one on the first floor - both equally nice with TVs and comfortable seating areas. The food they serve during the day is delicious, but I wouldn't recommend the breakfast. Going out into the city for coffee and a pastry is a better way to start the morning and can sometimes be cheaper.

I only really have two complaints about this place - the showers in some rooms are freezing cold with no hope of making it warmer ( there are showers and toilets in each room -- some floors have an additional shower in the hall- might try those) and in some rooms the shower nozzle is aimed at a really awkward height which makes it slightly inconvenient to take showers. My only other complaint is that some (SOME! not all) of the staff can be a little unapproachable at times.

Overall I would recommend this as a good place to stay when visiting london.

Room Tip: the top floors on the street side have good views of st pancras, but loud at night. If you are comin...

It is in front of St. Pancras Station, so it is very easy get a international train, subway, go to airport or any other place of city. The staff are rather friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clear and confortable. Although it is at very busy boulevard the rooms are very quiet. For sure the next time a go to London I'll stay here.

I stayed here with my friend in December as we were travelling from Manchester to Paris via London. The hostel location is perfect, it is a 5 minute walk from Euston station and is directly opposite St Pancras.
We were on a bit of a budget but were unsure of the whole hostel idea. For £48 between us we got a private room with a private bathroom right opposite St Pancras Station on Euston Road. It was ideal as we had to catch the Eurostar at 7am.
If I'm being really picky, the noise of the traffic from Euston Road did disturb my sleep but it is to be expected. We only used this hostel as a place to sleep, shower and change and so we were more than pleased with our experience.
I can't comment on the facilities as we didn't really make use of them but there was an internet cafe, a resteraunt, and a luggage room. The reception is 24 hours and the staff are very friendly and polite.

Room Tip: If you don't like the idea of sharing with strangers, you can request a private room with a priv...

Stayed here for a family weekend in London. 2 adults, 2 children (aged 7 and 5).

We needed a place to sleep for the weekend and we were on a tight budget so a youth hostel was well suited for us.

Over all I was very impressed with the hostel. Very easy to find and within a very quick walking distance of Kings Cross Station.

A very funky and modern feel to the hostel. A lovely cafe bar, (if a little small), offering a good range of food, drinks, internet. Comfy sofas and candle lights during the evening gave it a very nice feel. A very lovely continental breakfast in the morning served in a little basket. Friendly and approachable staff.

Clean, spacious rooms. Comfy beds and clean bedding. Plenty of storage in the rooms. We had a family room (en suite) with lovely big windows that over looked the road outside. Despite being at the front of the hostel, we didn't have any issues with noise or loud traffic and it was lovely to be able to open the windows wide on a nice day (very adequate safety rails on the windows).

I would defiantly go back and would recommend this place. I was very impressed!
