“Great location and value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

The Morgan's location couldn't be better from our perspective. Next door to the outstanding British Museum, close to three tube stations, within easy walking distance of London's theatre district and a variety of restaurants were all pluses. Our room was a reasonable size by London standards. It was very clean and there was lots of hot water in the bathroom.

Breakfast was very good including eggs, bacon, toast and a good sized carafe of coffee. It was efficiently served in an attractive, clean and appropriately decorated dining area.

The only negative may be that the Morgan does not have an elevator. We asked and got a ground floor room so this was not an issue for us.

Next time we're in London, our first choice will be the Morgan Hotel

My daughter and I spent a week in December 2012 at the Morgan Hotel, which we have stayed in every time we have gone to London over the past few years (this was our 4th visit to the hotel). As always, we found the Morgan a great base in London thanks to the welcoming hosts, impeccably clean rooms, great breakfasts and ideal location. I've already made reservations there for my next trip.

Room Tip: Rooms on the back overlooking the garden are especially quiet. This is a great location if you'r...

First off, get used to London being expensive. Our room cost 130 Euros a night with breakfast and represented good value for this city. The location can't be beat. Right around the corner from the British Museum and the Bloomsbury area. Short walk to the Tottenham Court tube station and close to the West End for the theaters. Our room (#203) was on the ground floor in the back off of a short hallway shared with one other room. It faced a small garden area and was quiet (double paned windows helped), basic and functional. Bathroom was nice with shower and space to spread out toiletries. Hairdryer was temperamental. Very friendly staff in the morning and a good breakfast cooked to order. Unfortunately, the afternoon/evening clerk was a bit abrupt so we saved our questions until the morning. The room itself was fine by London standards for this price range, but small by US. Housekeeping was friendly and the property was clean and safe. Really appreciated was the warmth of the temp. in the room as it was cold outside when we were there. The room walls are a little thin and so we heard our next door neighbor cough and sneeze. Didn't wander upstairs, but if you have a lot of or heavy luggage, you might want to ask for a lower floor room. WiFi worked for us. Since we were in town for 4 nights to see some plays and sights we previously have missed, it was a good choice. Would go back

Room Tip: Lower floor rooms are essential if you have anything other than minimal luggage. Room in the back ar...

I stayed in a long very thin room with en suite. It was extremely functional, warm and clean and wonderfully central to the British Museum, Senate House etc.. It was also good value. The breakfast was a few doors down in the main hotel which was no problem. Since this is so central, things aren't especially roomy (lots of narrow stairs etc..) but everything works. My room even had access to a tiny patch of patio garden. You can hear everyone getting up at 7am, so may be this is not the place to plan to catch up on sleep. The staff are quintessentially London, brusque but lovely people, tolerant of visitors. Standard breakfast and they even have a fruitbowl. Recommended, as a functional and safe good hotel. Probably not quite the thing though if you are looking for wild luxury and romance - there just isn't room to swing from the chandeliers!

Stayed for one night on Saturday 10th November - just wish it had been longer! Weekend in London to celebrate my daughter's 16th birthday - super hosts, very welcoming & informative- THANK YOU. Hotel very comfortable & clean. Excellent 'cooked to order' breakfast. Fantastic location for everything & excellent Turkish restaurant next door! (Taz') - a real bonus as we love Turkish food! Hotel very secure and we felt safe. Without hesitation, we highly recommend The Morgan Hotel & look forward to return visits! *****

We stayed here for 6 nights. It is still the nice clean friendly family run hotel it always has been. The breakfast is great , the rooms are basic / functional and well thought out, the area is terrific for walking to the theatre or the British Museum. Have dinner at the Tas restaurant next door (Turkish), it is a really good value.
We love the place. It's a really good central london value,
We'll be back!

Room Tip: The rooms on the inside are quieter but we always ask for street side because slight noise is not an...

We spent six nights at this small, family-run hotel, following the recommendation of a friend, and would definitely go there again. The location is excellent, just around the corner from the British Museum, at walking distance from the Covent Garden and shopping areas, and less than 5 minutes on foot from the Central line metro station. Our double room was very clean, comfortable, with adequate furnishing (a small but functional closet, a safe, two chairs and a sitting table, a stand for a suitcase). The bed was extremely comfortable. The room faced the main street, but the double window kept it well insulated from the traffic noise. The bathroom was very small, but modern and spotlessly clean. Full English breakfast was served every morning, and also someone used to continental breakfast could do fairly well with fresh toast, jam, cereals and yogurt. Mind you, of course it is not a 4-star hotel and you’ll have to put up with some minor inconveniences: the walls between rooms are thin and you can hear a good deal from your neighbours, the shower niche is pretty narrow and someone may find it rather inconvenient, and if you have many pieces of luggage you won’t have much room to spread them around. There is no lift, but we got help with our suitcases and it was no problem in the end. Overall a good-value choice, highly recommended.
