“Yates”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2013

Yates was our home away from home, as far as divey bars with great top 40 dancing go! During the day they have good drinks and great outdoor seating. Every night of the week they have dancing and seem to bring in a fun crowd.

“Will not be coming back in a hurry! Go to a wetherspoons”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013 via mobile

Went here on Good Friday for a drink and a bite to eat. We were looking for wetherspoons but this was next door and wetherspoons was packed.

Lighting was extremely poor very dark!

To get a drink from the bar was a very slow process, the bar staff were also the waiters so at lunch time they were out and not behind the bar.

We ordered the combo platter and were very disappointed a bit tasteless and the loaded potatoe skins were tasteless and seemed to be sat our for ages! Had approx 4 Tortilla chips!!!

All food arriving around us also didnt look like anything special.

All in all very disappointed.. There is so much more pubs and bars around that area so id steer clear of this one.

“Probably the best microwaved burger ever!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

Went in here on a weekday lunchtime and ordered my food, just a basic burger and chip combo. I was quoted 10-15 minutes wait on food which I said was fine. I had barely sat back down at my table when the food arrived. The burger tasted just like one of those Rustlers 2 minute microwave jobs, the bun was soft and the meat rubbery. On top of that I got charged £2.70 for a small glass of out of the carton warm juice. I know it's London but that is one hell of a markup! The service was fine, as expected for Yates.

“Very reasonable for London”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

Decent pub food, prices of food and drinks very good for London. It was very busy but the staff were first class, the food was hot and pretty good for pub grub. A good place for not a lot of cash in the heart of London.

“Just about OK place, to be”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013

Been there once and I believe, I am done going there..The ambience was nice, However, the crowd was rowdy. Don't want to sound racist here, but there were just too many hooligans tying to mess around in gangs. Bouncers did zero job. If you are not careful all by yourself, you are in for a fight outside Yates atleast!

The Drinks flow was the only good thing in there. The pole dance touch was also kind of nice. Food was just about average, not well presented and taste was strictly OK too.

The Bartender were a bit slow, however Valet's were active. So if you plan to buy yourself a drink over the counter, you can very well take a nap for a while.

Music was upto the mark, but I guess that's with almost every joint out there in Leicester.

Prices were also on a bit higher side for food as well as for drinks. A guinness at waxy o'connors and a guinness at yates had stark price difference. Not sure why!

Pros: Ambience, Dance, Drinks

Cons: Rowdy crowd, Price, Food

So if you plan to visit, I would advice to avoid friday nights (unless ofcourse you are big group ready to take on another). And do not choose the back corner seating as it gets too crowded and secluded from service.

If you are in for just Drinks and Dance, it's a place to be..

Cheers!
