“So-So Food, Rude Service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2014

Wife and I on vacation in London, walking around Covent Garden one night and stumble across Grand Indian. We've been looking for good Indian food since the beginning of our trip, to no avail, so thought we'd try this place. While I hate to pile on to previous reviews, please don't waste your time or money at this place! First, we were just looking for a late night snack and to share a curry dish, Naan, and rice. The waiter was tremendously rude and said "he would not allow us" to order this way. Ridiculous. We should have left, but didn't, after I talked the guy into it. Anyway, the food was only so-so, the curry not rich and flavorful, the Naan overly doughy and not fresh.

Conclusion, stay away and find anyplace else for Indian in Covent Garden. You can't do any worse...

“Rude Waiter”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2014

We were visiting London with a tour group and looking forward to a nice Indian restaurant - since we've heard there were so many good options there. While the location was great, the staff was incredibly rude and the food sub-par, at best. Looking at the other reviews I can't imagine how this place is still in business..the management obviously does not care about their customers.

“Not the best... Very Expensive”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2014

I have worked near this restaurant for several years and decided to go in for a meal. The food was average and cost £60 for two which is expensive even for Covent Garden. Service was overbearing as well. I'd recommend going to Masala Zone near the opera house on Floral Street if you fancy an indian meal, much more reasonably priced (£30 for 2) and very tasty.

“Very Shabby!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2014

Looking for a quick meal pre theatre and seeing this place and having a taste for a curry dived in! Ooops! Food was actually OKish but the decor and furniture had all seen better days. The head man was hovering by the front door trying to lure unsuspecting customers in. My table was right by this praying mantis! Unnerving!

The bloke next table to me had several errors on his bill which he pointed out. At the time there were less than 10 people in the restaurant so a mix up would have been difficult.....

The staff were not all attentive. I shall not revisit. Service charge was added automatically. I hate that.
