“Nice hangout”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2012

Met with friends for dinner, had great cocktails at the bar while waiting for the other couple, barman very friendly and passionnate ... food menu is short but interesting and the result is good. Overall good cocktails, food and staff experience ... nice hangout.

“Great steak and a comprehensive wine list”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2012

I've had two lovely meals at the Henry Root in the last 6 months. It's got a relaxed quirky atmosphere, a varied menu with plenty of vegetarian, fish and meat choices, and a very comprehensive wine list! I've really enjoyed the smoked haddock and hangar steak, and found the staff very friendly and happy to recommend a good wine choice.

“For local flavour, authentic British cuisine done well”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2011

Loved the quirky decor, down-home meets Wallpaper. Jug of tap water shaped like a fish. Lots of little dishes that are exquisite and probably not what you would make at home - do branch out and try something new here. Puddings also very impressive. Great hangout - even if the bar gets a bit noisy, try a table in the back or just by the window for a more intimate setting.

“great restaurant but tiny portions”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2011

Went for a dinner with friends. the staff are great and the food delicious, mainly. prices are what you expect for fashionable fulham road. big but, the portions were so small...my smoked trout first course was a piece of fish no larger than 3 fifty pence pieces, could have been eaten in one mouthful, iniquitous for £7 charge. Again, the Pork belly main, was an inch across strip, should have been three time the size.
