“Budget hotel, average.. but does its job”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 days ago NEW

The hotel is average, the interiors are run-down - but then for its price, its quite a deal. It is well located - so thats a good thing, and it includes a hearty breakfast which helps kick-starting your day!

I was in London on business, and this hotel did it's job well!

We were apprehensive after reading some poor reviews. We arrived fairly late to check I but received a warm welcome. Our room, a family one, double and single, was more than adequate. the room was a good size, clean and tidy. Agree with some comments about being a bit dated but every where was clean tidy and appeared in good order. our only complaint about the room was the hot water to the overhead shower was too hot! we had to use the handheld as we could control the temperature better - not too much of a complaint I feel. breakfast was plentiful.

Room Tip: we stayed in room 306 which seemed pretty quite and faced into the garden

We all enjoyed our stay at the Langorf. All the staff were pleasant and friendly. The rooms are a little dated but were clean and comfortable and we all enjoyed a good nights sleep. My son and his girlfriend stayed in the fabled room 101 and had no problems at all, so don't be put off by earlier posts on here. If anyone booking the Langorf is expecting 5 star service then book a 5 star hotel and pay there prices. The location is in a quiet area and having stayed in another hotel on Finchley road you will be grateful of the peace and quiet. Buy an Oyster card and use the local bus service they are regular as clockwork and you are in the centre of Oxford Street within 20 minutes. The breakfast was plentiful but the bar and dining area could do with being a little bigger. A little TLC and this hotel would be a regular for me when visiting London but would stay again no problem at all.

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at The Langorf Hotel and have vowed never to return again!
The hotel is very tired and requires a serious refurbishment.
Our double bed had been made up with a single bed sheet which obviously didn't fit. We were too tired to complain and put up with it. The next morning I did complain and it was changed. The person making up the bed must have known they had used the wrong sheet but obviously didn't care.
The room was small, with a tiny bathroom. We found the shower impossible to regulate, it was either scalding hot or freezing. The door to our room didn't fit properly and light came in around it. The net curtain was filthy.
Breakfast was served in the dining room - the curtains are so dirty they are disgraceful.
The hotel had numerous overseas visitors and I felt ashamed that their introduction to London was this hotel.
I strongly recommend people to look at other hotels before booking this one.

Room Tip: Find another hotel!

The whole hotel looks very tired and could do with redecoration. The beds were comfy enough but the pillows are the worst I have ever slept on. So thin which makes you wonder how old they are!! The room was clean, the staff were friendly enough and the breakfast was ok. Some fresh fruit would be nice though. The location of the hotel is convenient for the tube and Hampstead is not far away. The hotel is over priced for what you get but london is always over priced. It could be a beautiful hotel if they put the effort in and modernised it.

Our stay was enjoyable at The Langorf. The location of the hotel was excellent in a quiet area only a couple of minutes away from the underground. The staff were friendly, the breakfast was ample and the room was decorated lovely and was very clean. The downs sides were the uncomfortable mattres and soft pillows which unfortunately impact on your nights sleep. The bathroom sink would struggle to empty and the shower was only lukewarm and not very powerful. We were in a basement room so perhaps this was the reason.

Room Tip: basement rooms may be worth avoiding due to the plumbing and might be best to avoid being next to th...

This is a dingy, seedy, grotty dive - I actually cried when I saw the room I had booked; it was that bad. The only reason we stayed was because our two small children were so tired and had to go to bed right away. But we were all checked out by 630am because it was so unpleasant we couldn't stay.

When we arrived the room was unheated. We managed to get the radiator going but it only did boiling hot or off. We asked for someone to put the radiator in the bathroom on but no one did.

The beds were the worst part. The most unconfortable you could imagine - so hard and worn they were more like what I imagine beds in a prison camp to be. I genuinely have slept far mor comfortably in hospital beds. There were no duvets, just dingy blankets and sheets in the 1950s B and B style. The pillows were as flat and worn as pancakes.

There was a hair in the bath.

The bathroom door didn't stay open and the lighting was harsh.

We had requested a cot for our baby but no blanket or top sheet was provided.

Sink had loads of exposed pipes underneath and didn't drain properly.

Wallpaper peeling off the wall.

The whole room (and surrounding corridors) had such a depressing and dispiriting atmosphere, so un-modern and gloomy. I just couldn't relax there.

When I 'checked out' (I hesitate to use that word as it suggests a professional hotel but this is more like a youth hostel and a bad one at that) I told the man on reception I had had a really bad night and he just didn't seem to care in any way. He was totally unconcerned and didn't ask why we had been so uncomfortable or if he could do anything. He obviously hears complaints all the time!

Wouldn't return here if you paid me.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. We welcome comments which help us to improve our guests’ stay, and we are always prepared to improve where we did not exceed our guests’ expectations.

We are sincerely sorry if you cried when you saw the room. At the same time we are also surprised to hear about your disappointment for every single thing of the hotel from the moment you stepped in until the moment you checked out.

After an internal investigation, we have learned that the receptionist on duty that evening offered you a free upgrade to a larger executive room just next door when you informed her that you did not like the initial room, but you refused it. Regarding the heating in the bathroom, the receptionist went upstairs to turn it on, but the other lady who was in the room with the baby asked her to leave it off.

If you would like to discuss the points raised in your review further, please do not hesitate to contact us directly by phone or email at info@langorfhotel.com .
