“4 Star - for Service Alone”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

We stayed for 2 nights on business. The lobby is nice and clean, check in was fairly straightforward. We were upgraded to a larger room. The room itself was clean but dated, reminescent of a university dormitary. The bathroom was small and claustrophobic and I banged my head on the door repeatedly when getting up off the toilet. The balcomy and views were nice. Breakfast was also quite good, better than other Hilton's I have stayed at. Drinks and bar food was average and relatively expensive. The complimentary ferry service is a nice touch, it runs on time and takes 3 minutes to get across the Thames to Canary Wharf. The health club is fairly large with a nice range of equipment and free weights. The sauna is large, although the pool is small and more suited for children. There is no doubt the hotel needs a bit of an upgrade and the rooms are really a let down. However what makes the hotel is the service and this was top notch. All staff from the checkin desk to those at the restaurant were extremely polite, pleasant and very helpful and this is why I would recommend the hotel. They are an asset to the hIlton chain and made our stay worthwhile.

Room Tip: We had room 3573 - top floor, overlooking the tennis courts and apartment blocks.

The Hilton Docklands is loctated right opposite Canary Wharf and is easy to get to using the ferry. The hotel itself looks amazing from the outside, however this isnt the case on the inside. The hotel is very dated and rooms are small with no real air conditioning. My room was noisy and unpleasent and as such wont be staying there again soon. To think I booked this hotel due to the loyalty card....I'll think again in the future

Not the best hotel in the chain, but the rate is good. Don't expect Hilton class bedding - on the plus side, they are generally good at service recovery (I think they have experience here). The hotel menu is limited, and restaurants require either a long walk, or a ferry ride. Warning - the Ferry does not run between 11a.m. and noon, or between 8pm and 9pm - so leave early for lunch, and plan dinner times carefully. The hotel restaurant has a limited menu, but the food is pretty good.

Thank you for sharing your experience here, and for choosing Hilton London Docklands for your stay. Just for your information, the ferry break time is different on weekends. There is no afternoon break, and the evening break is between 7:45pm and 8:45pm. Please feel free to ask a member of staff at the hotel for more details.

I took my mother down to London for a night to celebrate her 50 birthday. I explained this to the hotel in advance, just expecting a nice card on check in. However the hotel had upgraded the room, there was a plate with 'Happy Birthday' with a card and a bottle of champagne. It made my mother’s trip as this was completely unexpected.

The room was quiet and had a great view over the Thames at night and in the daytime. We stayed in a deluxe room on the 4th floor. The reception staff were extremely customer service focused. The pricing for dinner was a bit expensive, however it is a four star hotel. Just be advised sometimes it is better to get the bus C10 than the river boat to the nearest bit of greater London. However be warned that the C10 runs on its driver’s schedule not the actual timetables of the company. The hotels swimming pool actually isn't in the hotel it is in a gym and leisure complex next door which was a bit disappointing as the pictures don’t seem to show this. Most needs are taken care of within the hotel; I thought it was excellent that they had a specialist travel advisor in reception (Concierge). Finally we had breakfast before we departed the hotel which was actually quite nice; I just wish that they had kept it warmer than it actually was. Some fab service from Francesca in the restaurant at breakfast really makes your morning to be greeted with a smile. I would definitely recommend a stay at this hotel.

Stayed four nights, room on first floor had a nice feel to it, good views however slightly jaded and in need of makeover, carpet had old stains on. The bed did not live up to the Hilton standard being noisy and really should be replaced, also the bedding was not the standard crisp satin stripe sheeting and while on this subject the pillows were the saddest, thinnest I have ever come across in any Hilton hotel. The air-con did not seem to be functioning properly this was not a huge problem as the weather was cool, also some rooms do not have air-con so this may be something to request in advance. The breakfast was great, full english! and most Hilton hotels do this really well. We used the ferry to get to Canary wharf and this complimentary service is fabulous, really quick turnaround and friendly operators. The location of the hotel may not suit some but for us it was fine and substantially cheaper, would recommend and we will stay again.

Room Tip: Shorter balcony rooms are larger, request room with air-con

Hotel was out of central London meaning a quieter location and very convenient for river travel which was the easiest way to get about. The Hilton ferry finished a little too early for post theatre travel to be relaxing but we made it back in time both evenings we were there. We would recommend the hotel which is very convenient for exploring Greenwich, 02 and surrounding area
