“Great location, average price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

Although the hotel name bears "St. Pancras" it is not very close to St. Pancras train station. If you are coming from Paris/Brussels by train, you will have to drag your luggage for a few hundreds of meters.

Anyway, the location is great: there are subway and train stations right beside the hotel (Euston) and a second subway at walking distance (Euston Square). Btw, it's easy to take Euston for Euston Square or vice-versa...

If you are on Oxford Circus you can take the bus 10 or 73 and drop a few meters away from the hotel's doorstep.

The location is also convenient is you are planning to visit Warner Bros. Studios in Leavesden (the making of Harry Potter), as a direct train heading to Watford Junction departs from Euston train station.

There are several good and cheap Indian restaurants very close to the hotel on Drummond Street. Ravi Shankar was our favorite. There is also a fine pub one block away: the Exmouth Arms.

The daily rate is somewhat high though if one considers that the there is no free wi-fi connection, safe deposit box or fridge in the rooms.

Overall, good service, clean rooms.

We stayed in Ibis London Euston for our weekend break recently and on the overall were very happy with our choice. Staying in the new part of the hotel, our room was clean and comfortable, surprisingly large for London - no frills but everything you might need for a short stay. Bathroom was a nice surprise as well - not big but well planned with plenty of shelf space for your toiletries and a nice big shower corner, the only down-side was the sound the toilet would make after flushing (a kind of muffled air-raid siren hoot :-) But it didn't really bother us enough to complain, we just mentioned it at check-out. We paid extra 7.50 for breakfast and there was a nice selection, both hot and cold, well worth the money (for London prices). You can hear trains but that is to be expected with Euston station just across a narrow side street, they were not noisy enough to interfere with our sleep. Next time we are in London we're definitely staying here again.

Room too hot at night and quite noisy - outside noise. Food excellent and can recommend the mixed grill! Staff friendly and helpful. Only stayed as early departure from St. Pancras which is only a 15 minute stroll away.

I stayed at the Ibis on the evening of the 15th October for bed and breakfast for the princely sum of £118 - in central London terms is good value. I checked in at around 4.45p in the afternoon. The receptionist was polite, friendly and helpful. I was given a choice of a room with a shower or bath. I checked that bath or shower didn't impact on the size of the bedroom and opted for a showelr. I then had a look at my room - 313. I was pleasantly surprised. A kingsized bed in a reasonably sized room. The bathroom was a bit of a shock - with a large shower but a fairly small room but everything worked. The room was clean and tdy. The bed was comfortable and slept well.

I had a couple of issues with the totally self service breakfast - the plates are tiny BUT it's help yourself - so I made several trips. The hot buffet is a bit limited - scrambled eggs (very runny scrambled eggs and no fried eggs), bacon, sausage (not the best I've ever had but I've had a lot worse), beans, fresh tomatoes and hash browns. The toaster was also awful it didn't seem to realise that toast is usually brown...That said I enjoyed my self service full English. Drinks were also good - a wide selection of self service hot drinks with the obligatory Orange and Apple. Drinks are obtained through a couple of self service machines but at 8.30 this morning there were a few queues - perhaps another hot drink station might help. I don't really do the cold continental breakfast items - I had a bowl of fruit salad...which was OK - only really apples, pineapple, melon balls and a few grapees. I had a quick look at the cold stuff it seemed fairly limited.

The biggest issue surrounding breakfast was that the staff weren't clearing the tables fast enough - there was no obvious managerial presence. Guests - and I was one - were forced to clear a dirty table before they could sit down and eat. Had they sorted out the breakfast service then I would have rated the hotel 5 rather than 4.

I would be more than happy to stay again. It is genuinely good value
