“Friendly hotel - recommended”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2014

I stayed here for 2 nights over the weekend. The hotel is well located, just 2 minutes from the tube and easy to find. I had requested a high floor (I realise requests are not guaranteed) and I was allocated a room on the first! The room was small as expected but fine for my needs, and was clean and comfortable. Unfortunately I didn´t get much sleep as I was near the lift which in itself isn´t a problem, but inconsiderate guests returning to their rooms through the night were a problem. Not the hotels fault at all and they moved me the next day to the 5th which was fine.

Had a couple of drinks in the bar and that was a nice place.

Had breakfast which was superb. Excellent buffet spread and food hot. If you do not have breakfast included in your rate, make sure you get tickets at reception and this will be 12.00 GBP. If you walk 15 metres to the restaurant and book there, it costs 3.00 GBP extra - work that one out!

On the morning of check out I had a slight problem with being woken up by housekeeping at 08.20 but that was dealt with by reception and duty manager. These things happen.

I must say I don´t think I have ever stayed in a hotel where the staff are so friendly and helpful. The reception, concierge, doorman, restaurant staff etc were all excellent and really made you feel welcome.

I would stay here again and would recommend to to others.

We booked the Hotel in a package for two nights including flights via a big German internet travel portal. The location is very convenient, just around the corner of Kensington High Street Underground Station, which is only two stops away from Paddington and that of course has direct connections to Heathrow. The Hotel appears to be modernized shortly or is at the end of that, there were Craftsmen working here and there doing touch ups, but that was no issue in terms of noise. Our room on second floor was not too big but sufficient for two. Also the window could have been bigger, it was about the same size as the TV, but as we used the room just for sleeping, that was acceptable as well. Soap/Shampoo was provided. Breakfast buffet was very good, but nothing exceptional. We thought there were lot's of staff around. Very friendly and caring. The Concierge was very helpful and almost passionate with Taxi reservations and Musical tickets. Brilliant.
Overall i can highly recommend that hotel, we are absolutely satisfied and if we travel to London again, we will definitely consider it again. Great value for the money.

Room Tip: Corner rooms have tiny windows.

Dear Karen F,

I would first like to thank you for taking the time to complete your review of the hotel.

I was most disappointed to hear of your issues of your first stay and happy that you were able to experience a much more positive stay on your return visit.

At present we are undergoing a refurbishment programme which will bring all the rooms up to the standard of your second stay.

I will be sure to relay your comments to the team for their attentiveness and helpfulness

Kindest regards

stayed 1 night check in was made easy. but took ages to find our room as there is no obvious directions and no staff to assist us. room was ok but small and had all necessary facilities. unfortunately we did not get much sleep as the walls are very thin and next door had the tv on very loud. good location for sightseeing in London.

Room Tip: try to get a room at the top of hotel as lower floors do not let in much light due to surrounding bu...

My wife and I stayed here in February as part of our honeymoon. We found the staff to be extremely attentive, the rooms where spotless and had a great view of the surrounding area and the buffet breakfast was amazing!

Highly recommended.

We arrived and were booked in and offered an upgrade to an Executive Room for an extra £12... so we did and had vision of a larger room, bit of space etc.... The room was very small.... about 2 foot either side of the bed and 3 foot at the foot. Apart from that the room was very good, the bed and pillows were comfortable, the bathroom was very good, very clean, maybe the cleanest I've seen, just an odd thing but the toilet seat was square 'ish and my bum wasn't but it was OK. There was very little street noise which was good, the ventilation system was good. We had breakfast which was excellent.... plenty of cereal's etc.. and the cooked breakfast was very very good and the waitresses were good. The reception and door staff were very good as well. The location obviously depends on what you are in London. Would I stay there again... YES.

surprised by some other comments on here about the rooms. Our room was clean and fresh and adequately spacious for two people! Great location, staff were helpful and were quick to put out two twin beds together and arrange with double-duvet when asked (could only book twin bed room).
