Great balance between old-style dining in elegant surroundings and light-hearted, friendly service. On arrival what strikes you immediately is the polished brass and dark oak of the restaurant. The tables are set in such a way as to afford the diners some privacy in the midst of a busy interior. Very friendly staff ensure that every need is met yet they withdraw when not required. All members of our group enjoyed their choice from the menu. Well cooked, nicely presented courses with the fillet steak an especial favourite. It may be churlish to offer any criticism but it should be pointed out that the Guinness Pie is somewhat lacking in content and it was strange to be offered a taste of the red wine, while the sparkling white was being consumed at the table. A great evening of excellent food, attentive staff and pleasant company.......one to remember for a long time!
