“Only good thing is location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2013

We booked in here for one night due to a recommendation, but aside from the location, I really believe you can do so much better for the money.
We arrived at half past one and the room was not ready, not a problem, as is normal rooms generally become available 2ish which this duly did, now bear in mind the room was £218 plus VAT which annoys me that they do not publish the full up cost before you start your booking, but I am sure it is just to attract punters.
When we arrived in the room it was a major disappointment the room was not a bad size and the bathroom also, but the general feel was one of an old room which needed an update, the TV was a flat screen but tiny and very old the TV channels were limited to about 9 with no Freeview at all, you could pay for upgrades.
Also internet is extra and very expensive
The bed was solid, big but solid, you had tea making but no bathrobe or slippers, the bathroom had an over bath shower, which looked like an after thought, and a curtain, bear in mind this is a 4 star hotel.
We also find it surprising that you do not get free bottled water it costs £3.50, I get this at a basic Holiday Inn, so I bought some from the supermarket for £1.20, it is not the cost it is a principle and when I am paying £261 including VAT, a bottle of water is not too much to ask to be included. Even the Montague provides this free.
The breakfast was not much to write about just very basic buffet, you could have at any other hotel, there was a selection of other things but it was all chargeable.
So overall probably will not go back, until they realise that some things should be included in the price, and not just continually charge for every little thing.

The hotel is really easy to find with a large glass frontage. The staff were really friendly and managed to find us a room we could check into before the usual 2pm check in. Service in general throughout our stay was above average and everyone was polite and friendly.

The room was quite small, but was clean, well presented and had everything you could need. It was typical of many London hotels. One slight downside was the hair dryer in the bathroom that takes a lifetime to dry your hair!

The hotel is really central and close to theatre land and lots of restaurants and bars.

Breakfast was better than expected as well as the usual continental and hot buffet there was also the option to order eggs fresh to order as well as a breakfast specials menu.

All in all I would say it was exactly what I would expect from a 4* hotel in Central London and would definitely recommend.

Four ladies for afternoon tea was a lovely way to break our shopping trip in London!
The experience for our first time was made very comfortable by friendly & helpful staff.
Would thoroughly recommend & would suit anyone of all ages, the lounge was a lovely & bright setting to.
We ate all our goodies, leaf tea was lovely & we could have ordered more but didn't need too.
Great value for money.

This was our second stay at the Kingsway Hotel, Covent Garden & it was thoroughly enjoyable. The hotel is very well located, no more than a 5 minute walk to Covent Garden & there are plenty of bars & restaurants for all price ranges, close by.
The staff at the hotel are extremley friendly & helpful & the rooms are comfortable & clean. The breakfast was excellent, a choice of everything.
We would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in the heart of London.
We enjoyed it so much that we are returning in March 2014

Room Tip: Pre-book your breakfast for a better rate.

We stayed at the Kingsway hall Hotel for the second time in 2 years. This time we took friends with us. As expected the room was comfortable and the service was excellent. The proximity to theatres and Covent Garden make this an ideal base.

Room Tip: A great place to base a trip to theatre land as most theatres are within an easy walking distance. T...

This was a real find. A lovely mid-priced hotel five minutes walk from Covent Garden and the Theatre district. Our room was lovely, the breakfast was hearty and the staff were very helpful and friendly. They even have a comedy club, albeit more modest than the big stand-up venues. Nonetheless it was intimate and a lot of fun. When asking directions to the Playhouse we wondered what the short delay was. It was the very helpful receptionist printing off a readable street map and directions - nice touch Literally 2 minutes walk from Holburn Tube Station it could not have been easier to get to. ,

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper and prefer not to hear the revelers returning from a night out in Covent...
