We booked in here for one night due to a recommendation, but aside from the location, I really believe you can do so much better for the money.
We arrived at half past one and the room was not ready, not a problem, as is normal rooms generally become available 2ish which this duly did, now bear in mind the room was £218 plus VAT which annoys me that they do not publish the full up cost before you start your booking, but I am sure it is just to attract punters.
When we arrived in the room it was a major disappointment the room was not a bad size and the bathroom also, but the general feel was one of an old room which needed an update, the TV was a flat screen but tiny and very old the TV channels were limited to about 9 with no Freeview at all, you could pay for upgrades.
Also internet is extra and very expensive
The bed was solid, big but solid, you had tea making but no bathrobe or slippers, the bathroom had an over bath shower, which looked like an after thought, and a curtain, bear in mind this is a 4 star hotel.
We also find it surprising that you do not get free bottled water it costs £3.50, I get this at a basic Holiday Inn, so I bought some from the supermarket for £1.20, it is not the cost it is a principle and when I am paying £261 including VAT, a bottle of water is not too much to ask to be included. Even the Montague provides this free.
The breakfast was not much to write about just very basic buffet, you could have at any other hotel, there was a selection of other things but it was all chargeable.
So overall probably will not go back, until they realise that some things should be included in the price, and not just continually charge for every little thing.
