“All good!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Just returned from an excellent stay at the Doubletree Hilton Hyde Park. Had 2 rooms on the 4th floor towards the back of the hotel. Rooms were extremely neat, clean & functional. And quiet! Also, good-sized compared to the average London hotel rooms. Both rooms looked out towards leafy green environs - another plus. Free wi-fi was also a bonus. Private in-room safes, tea/coffee makers, decent sized wardrobes & useful toiletries helped complete a very pleasant experience. The hotel is air-conditioned & this was particularly helpful as London was quite warm while we were there. There was a slight problem with the ACs on one of the nights (a problem that, I believe, extended to most of the hotel), & it was handled efficiently by the manager who personally saw to it that things were resolved ASAP. The hotel is outstandingly located. A 3 minute walk to Queensway station on the Central line, & buses to Oxford Street leaving from practically right outside the hotel. Queensway is full of restaurants & convenience stores from where one can easily pick up daily replenishments. A very good breakfast is served at the very cheerful lobby level restaurant of the hotel, Urban Meadow. To top it all, the hotel is (relatively) competently priced & offers good value. Recommended!

This Hotel is in such a great location, walk across the road to Hyde Park, a few blocks away from Bayswater Road and NottingHill Gate, so you are spoilt for choice where to eat. BigBus right outside the Hotel. Easy to grab a cab. Only a short taxi ride away from Oxford Street or Kensington.
Rooms are small, but this is London.

Room Tip: Higher floors would be less noisy from street traffic.

Staff is helpful and very friendly. The room must have been just refurbished as it was updated, well decorated, extremely clean and very comfortable. The breakfast in the morning is excellent and the service is superb. The food is fresh, good variety of breads, muffins and a hot breakfast selection. The servers were very friendly and efficient. Watch out for tour groups that may temporarily overwhelm the service. You can also sit outside with a drink and just people watch. Very comfortable to come back after a long day of sight-seeing and just relax with a drink. The hotel is at the end of Hyde Park near Notting Hill. Easily walkable to Portabello Rd. Jamie Oliver's restaurant (Recipease) is close by to try out as well. Hyde Park is across the street and several museums are close by (Albert Victoria museum is highly recommended and Museum of Natural History is also close by along with Kennsington Palace). Good wine stores are several blocks away on Bayswater Rd to bring back and enjoy in your room as well as an M&S store where you can pick up a bite to eat, as eating out in London can be expensive. Could not ask for a better hotel for the price. Great service and great facility.

Room Tip: If you can swing it get one of the three rooms on the mezzanine level that have a huge balcony. It i...

As others have said the hotel is close to 3 tube stations and just over the road from Hyde park. It is also a short walk from Portobello market which is one of the best free things to do in London. It also has a car park which is £25 per night. The outside seating area was welcome and quite rare in London, sadly no draught beer just bottles.
We had a disabled person room on the ground floor towards the rear of the hotel which was quiet at night and well soundproofed. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, the room was well appointed and the free water in the fridge most welcome. We are not disabled but had the room as it was the only one available when we booked. I have to say that if i had been disabled i would have found the bathroom annoying. There was no shelf for your toiletries the sink was a hand rinse basin with no facility for a plug so shaving was a pain. There was no rack for the towels so you had to keep moving them around. I work in the construction industry and all of these things could have been incorporated, also there was a bad smell in the bathroom when returning at night.
I would like to have scored the hotel higher but found the brand overall a little bland. I would however stay again if the price was right.

Room Tip: Rooms at the rear may be quieter, also there is a decent pub about 100 yds away towards notting hill...

Three couples from Texas recently traveled to London in advance of a cruise. We sought a comfortable, air conditioned hotel in a quiet location with good sightseeing opportunities--that wouldn't break our budget. We settled on the DoubleTree Hyde Park and by booking early, we got a decent price that included full breakfast.
We arrived at the hotel around 11 am after an overnight flight. Our van driver passed up the hotel initially, thinking that we were booked at the Hilton a couple of blocks down the street. Fortunately I saw the hotel as we drove by and got him turned around fairly quickly. I suspect taxi and van drivers frequently get the 2 hotels mixed up. The DoubleTree staff managed to provide one room at that early hour. The other 2 couples stored their luggage and returned later in the afternoon to find both rooms ready at the promised time. Our rooms were very clean and comfortable, with good beds and linens.
We didn't eat dinner at the hotel, but we did have breakfast each day, as well as one lunch there. No complaints about the food whatsoever. The breakfast buffet had lots of items appealing both to English and American tastes.
We discovered that one of the hop on hop off busses stopped right in front of the hotel. We'd booked a couple of Evan Evans tours, which picked up at a small hotel on Prince's Square, less than a 5-minute walk away. We also took advantage of the close proximity of Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park--great for evening and early morning walks. We did not utilize the tube on this trip. Instead, the hotel staff were happy to get taxis for us.
We would definitely book this hotel again. We had no complaints whatsoever, and our stay was an excellent prelude to a cruise through the lovely Norwegian fjords.

It is well and conveniently located property with better than average bedroom for a London hotel. The breakfast was substantial. I normally stay at Hilton hotels. In this case I could not get into my regular Hilton and I found the DoubleTree a very satisfactory alternative.

Have all of the in-room amenities such as ironing board, tea/coffee making facilities, internet and etc. Check-in / check-out may be quite busy at times. Slightly pricey but it is good for business travellers.
