“Good hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2014

Stayed here in May 2013. Hotel was under constructions so it was a little noisy but no real complaints. They did have wi-fi when we were there and MAN were they persistent about it. When we inquired initially, we paid in cash for two days. When we returned on day two, we had a message and a note on our door. We thought we'd pay it on our way out to dinner, we had a another note stuck to our door before we even got to head to the lobby. No big deal but they were persistent. Beds were a little small. Hotel wasn't too far from the Tube. I would recommend staying closer into town for all the sights but as a whole this was a very nice hotel

Thank you for taking the time to review the Lancaster Gate Hotel after your recent stay

The refurbishment was conducted to rejuvenate the hotel for the benefit of the guest, and we always endeavour to carry out the works during times when the majority of our guests are out of the hotel. I am delighted to confirm that these works are now all completed.

Sincere apologies for the confusion regarding the charges for the wifi, it is necessary for the Hotel to ensure that all payable amenities are guaranteed by the guest.

We hope you will consider the Lancaster Gate Hotel on any upcoming visits to London.

Easy access to metro, close to shops, restaurants, cafes and hyde park for walking and sport. Hotel is in a quiet area but only 1-2 at the station from Oxford street. The hotel dispozsi wi-fi (for rent). The room is comfortably spacious and clean, the bed comfortable. I recommend and definitely you are staying next time. (Warning, stay for the price you pay in advance!)

My wife and I stayed for one night to visit a West End show. Location is great, 5 mins walk to Lancaster Gate Tube which is 8 mins by tube to Tottenham Court right on the edge of SOHO. Hotel is located in a quiet area with excellent travel links. Staff are attentive and our room albeit small was adequate and very clean and great for the price. We arrived at 4pm, freshened up and decided to stay at the Hotels Restaurant for tea. Things at this point went a bit down hill. The decor was nice and clean and staff again very attentive. But an O.M.G. moment arrived after we ordered Fish and Chips (at £10.95 each). Expecting a pure white slab of Cod smothered in bubbly crisp batter we were bitterly disappointed when brought to our table was a battered fish portion (Similar to TESCO'S VALUE BATTERED WHITE FISH PORTION 85p for four) Loads of oven chips and a spoonful of mushy peas complimented with a small bowl of Tartae sauce. The total cost plus a cup of coffee and pot of tea for one was £27.55. This really spoilt our day. However I would still use the Hotel but certainly would not use the restaurant I would go into SOHO were there is an endless amount of choice.

This is our second visit to this hotel. Situated in a good position near Hyde Park in between Lancaster Gate and Queensway tube stations and on a good bus route to Oxford Street.
Our room 215 was spacious with a huge bed, but found the room cold even with the heating system on. Good breakfast and attentive staff, shame about the weather.

Room Tip: Second floor rooms

It is difficult to find a hotel room in London around the £100 mark, but this hotel delivers. Prices (in January) seem to be around £120 a night, but I got a deal at 48 hours notice from Expedia for a double room at £84, (room only). For that you get every facility expected of a good standard 3-star hotel, full en-suite, temp controlled aircon, fluffy towels, trouser press, in-room safe, decent bed and above all - Clean. Lift to all floors. You don't get free WiFi, but at this price, that's not unreasonable. Décor is bright modern take on traditional. Bar and restaurant in the building. The hotel is situated in a Regency-style terrace building convenient to Central line tube stations, 20 mins from the door to the West End, or a walk across the park to Kensington.

Situated just off Bayswater Rd, to the North of Hyde Park, this Hotel is very well placed for trips into the centre of London. The tubes a ten min walk from the Hotel. Decent price for this part of town. I object to paying extra for wifi and internet services in this standard of place, so didn't pay. Shame such a small point let it down, but you can't have everything in life, can you? Otherwise, where would we be? Completely satisified and bored.

Room Tip: Book early!!!

The hotel has carried out market research in order to ascertain a favourable charge for the wireless internet. The small charge that we levy is one of the most competitive in the area. Complimentary wireless is available in our business room package.

Once again, we thank you for your time as your feedback is invaluable to us and we hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back to the Lancaster Gate Hotel.
