“Better Than Many in london”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013

My decision to stay at this hotel was the need to be close to the Royal Albert Hall. i was also expecting an expensive closet sized room. I was pleasantly surprised that the room had two queen sized beds in a very reasonably sized room. The table was small but it did have two chairs in a bay window overlooking Cromwell Road. Sound insulation was excellent. Across the street was a large Waitrose supermarket, the Gloucester Road Underground station.and a very presentable pub. Two blocks down the road was the Natural History Museum. The neighbourhood appeared clean and safe. I had breakfast as part of my package and the food was very good. Nothing like a full English breakfast to start the day. My room cost £816.85 for two people including breakfast and all taxes for two nights. That is $640 CAN per night. Welcome to London prices! Parking was non-existent but who want a car in London!

Room Tip: Get one with a bay window.

Dear Twytz
Thank you for the feedback on your recent stay. I am glad that you appreciated our rooms which are larger than average for London hotels. Also, with triple glazing, even the front facing rooms are quiet and undisturbed by traffic.
Although we have no parking on site, there is an underground car park just accross the road which guests can use (it is chargeable).
I hope you will be back again soon - remember you can always get the best prices on our own website.
Best regards

we stayed in the crown plaza as a family. Service was great. Hotel can be easy reached by tube. All family relevant attractions can be visited in short distance trips. Restaurants are near by as well. Rooms are excellent and breakfast has a good choice of hot and cold food. all in all very good.

We were given an excellent room for 2 of us with a view over a garden and a church.Big comfy beds and very clean.Especially commendable was the helpful information from the concierges every day on restaurants ,one called Olives,Italian, nearby was very good quality with home made pasta. Also, to be just opposite the Gloucester tube station made our stay much easier.
We hope to return to this hotel.b

Room Tip: Ask for a large room in the back where it' quiet

great location great staff. Michael and Tobias (?) at check in were/are the best. people willing to help. Diago (consierre) great. only problem was that one day no maid service. We had to get fresh towels from housekeeping trash not emptied beds not made etc. I brought it up at check out thinking they might offer some compensation, but nothing.

I was so sorry to hear that our Housekeeping team had failed to service your bedroom one day during your stay, please accept our sincere apologies, that is certainly not the norm here. I do hope you will return again soon and let us make it up to you.

Rooms are nice and big, king size beds, all very comfortable. Free internet is great. Location is OK. Breakfast could have more seats. There was a waiting line to be seated. I thought this was a big down-turn. Staff was very helpful and eager to serve.

Dear Roberto_MJ
Thank you for your feedback, I am glad you liked our good sized rooms and king size beds. I'm so sorry that you had to wait for a table at breakfast - that can sometimes happen during school holiday times when alot of guests choose to come down about the same time for breakfast. During the summer months, we also serve breakfast in our beautiful 1 acre garden, which can avoid queues forming in the restaurant.
I do hope you will be back again soon.

I was here ten years ago when the hotel was still Holiday Inn. Now stayed for one night in the beginning of April for business. They have done excellent job when renewing the hotel. Nice room on third floor, window facing the garden. The location is excellent next to the Gloucester road tube station and walking distance to museums and Harrods if you have more time than I did. Breakfast was typical, but good. Would have given five starts but there was something missing with the service mosly I think in the reception.Anyway, my recommendations for this hotel.

Room Tip: Window facing garden

Dear Heikki L
Thank you for your feedback, I am glad you appreciated the changes and imnprovements at the hotel since your last visit. We spent over £10 million in upgrading the hotel when we converted from a Holiday Inn to a Crowne Plaza and have an ongoing programme to continually improve the hotel and it's facilities. This year we are upgrading our unique garden, to make it an even more comfortable and stylish place to enjoy dining "Al fresco". I do hope it won't be another 10 years until your next visit.

The rooms are lovely and much bigger than the normal shoe boxes you get in London. Staff were very helpful and welcoming and the location is fantastic. Across the road from Gloucester station and lots of restaurants and a waitrose. Gloucester station connects really well to most tube lines. I would definitely stay again
