“Fabulous Location and the Perfect Home Base to Explore London From”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

We spent 10 nights at the Hyde Park Hilton and ‘gotta say, what a terrific location! We were immediately given a complimentary upgrade and offered choice of front or back facing room – we chose the front, looking right over Hyde Park. Quiet room (no road noise, thanks to the double-paned windows), blackout curtains for night time, free internet (but only in the bar, lobby area and 1st floor common area), comfortable bed, good linens, in room safe, thoroughly cleaned each/every day with new toiletries supplied daily, extremely friendly staff greeted us constantly throughout our stay and were always happy to answer questions, make a phone call on our behalf and more. Our room was #211 and it was perfect. Was the room small? Well, it was smaller than a North American Hilton but hey, you’re in London! Queensway was right on the corner with loads of restaurants, the underground, grocers, pubs, bus stops, etc, just steps away. Hyde Park entrance is just across the street and a great spot for a morning or evening stroll. There’s a terrific little sidewalk café next door called Lo Spuntino operated by a lovely man named “Jose” and his wife that serves very reasonably-priced (and well prepared) lattes and yummy deserts – a great way to start or end the day! The Hyde Park Hilton exceeded our expectations but it was the staff that made it the real success! Well done Hilton.

Room Tip: Ask for a front-facing room and sign up for the Hilton H Honors card (fre) in advance for free point...

We stayed one night at this hotel on our way home from a cruise. Well located, opposite Hyde Park and walking distance from Portobello Road. Really close to a underground station (Queensway) that makes it very accesible for travelling around London. Quiet and large room with comfy bed. Good breakfast. Though the bar and lounge area was nice we got the worst drinks ever in this bar. The bartender must have been unexperienced or had a really bad day... Would not hesitate to come back again to this hotel. .

Convenient location, very close to the tube stations for the main lines like Central (Queensway stop) Circle and District Lines (Bayswater stop). There are also food places of multicultural cuisines nearby and a short walk to Whiteleys Shopping Centre (M&S Simply Food for quick and cheap take away sandwiches etc). Opposite of the hotel is Kensington Gardens which is lovely. Also very close to Notting Hill district where the famous Portebello Road Market is located.

The room is a bit small but it was clean and comfy complete with amenities like tea and coffee, hair dryer, toiletries and in room safe. Noises from the pipes when we used the bathroom can be heard in our room. There is no free wifi in our rooms but you can obtain wifi details to access at the lobby and lounge area.

Overall it is a good hotel with a convenient location and comfy room.

Moved up to this hotel after a rough night's stay down the road. As we were on business, internet connectivity was paramount and there was no problem with it here. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful. The location, directly across from Kensington Palace and Hyde Park was terrific. The queen deluxe room was perfect sized, and actually quite roomy. The breakfast buffet was a decent selection. We would probably choose this hotel as our main base for business next time.

Stayed for 2 nights in a group of 6. Really well located for use of the tube and taxis. Straight opposite Hyde Park for a walk and through to Kensington Palace and High Street. Rooms were small but had all that was needed (in twins) Rooms did get very warm during the night and perhaps some kind of cooling system may be of use. It was a very nice building, sympathetically restored and maintained.
Didn't try breakfast as we went out to Kensington High St for some but it did smell v nice - although expensive, as is the bar! Overall a decent stay and at the right price would stay again

Dear PhoebeHuddersfield

Thank you for your review about your recent visit to us at Hilton London Hyde Park. I am sorry you found your room quiet warm at night, though it may interest you to know we do have air conditioning available in all of our guest rooms. On a more positive note, I agree that the hotel is very well positioned with ease of access to all parts on London either on foot or by public transport.

I was pleased that you and your party had an enjoyable stay and we do hope to see you at the hotel again soon.

Location was excellent. Hotel amenities clean and average but nothing flash. Some areas extremely run down but others lovely (e.g. breakfast area). Room very small but I hear that's just London. Internet hit and miss. Breakfast great. Staff lovely. Fire drill in the middle of the night.... not so fun. Price seemed excessive for what you get but it was our first time in London, so could be typical pricing. Overall a great stay and wouldn't hesitate to return.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of Hyde Park. We had a view of the building next door, so kept the curtains shut the...

We stayed at this hotel for 10 days (more fool us).
Our room was equipped with a queen bed, small desk, one chair, a stool, and a small table. The room was so small that only one side of the bed was accessible, and only one side had a night table.
The bathroom was so small that you could not sit straight on the toilet - had to have your legs off to one side so as to not hit the wall.
The shower (no bathtub) had a lot of black slime mold in it. We tried three times to get an extra blanket, but never did get it.
Room was said to have a "view" of Hyde Park, but the trees obscured all but the road in front.
As best we could tell, the bathroom was never vacuumed, and the bedroom was only "sapot" vacuumed.
Had to put the waste can in the middle of the room to get them to empty it.

Room Tip: Don't stay in this hotel. We spoke to several other travellers at other hotels and they did not...
