“Excellent stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013

We really enjoyed our stay at the Marriott Hotel, Kensington. The room was very clean and the staff were excellence in every area and we always got a welcoming smile. Earls Court and Gloucester Rd tube are both nearby, with the Picadilly line taking you straight into the centre, or in the other direction to Heathrow. There are plenty of restaurants near by and a supermarket directly opposite the hotel.

Room Tip: We had a room on the front overlooking the atrium.

Booked for 2 nights ina double room. The room was small but had everything we needed for a short stay. The best thing about this hotel is the location. Its only a 5 minute walk from Earls Court tube station. The natural history museum is about a ten minute walk away and Harrods and Hyde park are only a 20 minute walk.

We had breakfast included which was nice , and there was lots of choice.

The best part is location most of the attractions are in walking distance i.e. Hyde Park, Kensington Palace.Very helpful staff, enjoyed my stay here. Well connected to Heathrow airport can take a tube , takes about 45 minutes to reach.

I was there for one night to attend a concert at the Royal Albert Hall. This hotel is pretty nice, clean, and in a fantastic location.

Just five minutes walk away there's an underground station (Gloucester Road) and the Royal Albert Hall is a 20 minute walk away with only two turns. There's a Sainsbury right in front of the hotel which is great to buy food/drinks and restaurants near by plus the usual Starbucks, Burger King etc etc right next to the underground station.

There's a mini bar in the room but I think it's with sensors so don't lift anything from it to put your stuff in. There's no free space to do it. Internet was 15 GBP a day (high speed wireless) but I was refunded the full Internet price for being a Marriott Silver Elite member. No other hotel did that for me.

Overall, great hotel, a bit expensive, but it's in Kensington, so you don't expect anything less.

Room Tip: Always take a high floor to avoid noise from streets.

My husband and I stayed here for the Army v Navy rugby weekend. We were upgraded to a suite upon arrival and had cheese and wine waiting for us in our room. The room was gorgeous and very clean. The staff was absolutely amazing, especially the bar staff. After the game, we had intended on going for a night out in London and just stop at the bar for one drink...we ended up staying in that bar for the entire evening because it was a great time, they stayed open quite late for us as well. We had breakfast in the morning and there was a great variety of things to choose from which you could imagine after a long day/night of drinking was an absolute life saver. I wouldn't expect any less of the Marriott chain.

The hotel makes a very clean and bright impression. Rooms are modern and comfy, breakfast buffet is good, service friendly and attentive and the hotel lounge offers delicious snacks.

Ideal if you're planning to visit Kensington areas but also relatively close to central London (5 stops on Piccadilly line). There's a large Sainsbury's supermarket across the street which is another bonus.

2 nights spent at this hotel. What a fabulous stay we had. Such friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. Both mornings were busy Breakfasts but the chef and staff tendered to all our
food requests and really seemed to enjoy looking after us. Front office and concierge were so on the ball with everything. A great stay. Thank you

Room Tip: Pay a little more for the executive room- well worth it.
