“Accomodation in Marriott Kensington”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

I had a 7 night business stay in Mariott Kensington; as we were in a fairly sizable group I was upgraded to a suite. The hotel executive rooms are reasonably good, especially if you are facing the Cromwell av. Side. I was lucky with the size and facilities, but i was surprised not to have a proper - Nescafe/ or filter coffee machiene avaible even in executive suit rooms. Rooms on the back can be lacking size and light, you need to be cautious with the room choice.
Rooms in general are little bit tired, rather conservative old decorationand lacking light
Breakfast is "ok", not very rich in choice ; surprising to see cappuccino/ espresso being on the extra's list, with only filter coffe available free.
However , location is good surrounded with good restaurants and Kensington High street within 10 mins walking.

Room Tip: Choose the Cromwell facing rooms which seem to have better light and no noise due to design

First impression was how pleasant, the lady on reception was, and the concierge was very helpfull. The room was clean, fridge well stocked, but rather on the small side for a hotel of this quality. We were only there for one night so we didn't eat in the restaurant, so i can't tell you what it was like. Breakfast was not included in the price we paid, so we ate at a cafe just up the road on Gloucester road, which was excellent and only £7 for a full english. This is an ideal hotel if you want to visit the Natural History Museum, The Science Museum, and the V&A Museum, they are all just up the road.

Stayed here for one night while going to an exhibition at Earls Court and was very pleased with the entire stay.
It's really handy for EC, even closer than it looks on the map, just a stroll.
We got quite a good price mainly because it included the club lounge, which was quite small but empty and therefore perfect for a couple of glasses of vino, a quick read of the papers and a snack or two before we retired.
The room was really nice, new and clean comfy bed.
A really lovely chap on reception - wish I could remember his name because he deserves a shout out!
Excellent breakfast, though it was a bit chilly sat there.
Would return if I needed to be in this area again - would recommend.
Note - there is no swimming pool - I thought there would be but it no longer has one.

We got this on a Travelzoo deal..£99 per room per night and we were upgraded tp club rooms but not with any of benefits just the rooms... Rooms were very tired and the curtains were falling off the rail and our kettle didn't work...and this was an upgrade......... Parking was £37.50 per night, the breakfast was varied and much quieter on the Saturday than the Sunday, when the waiters were rushed off their feet and it took a long time to get your tea or coffee. Good location and the Chinese restaurant on the side is really good food and well worth a visit staff in there were excellent and couldn't do enough for you.

Found this hotel to be really well located for getting round London with Gloucester Road Tube station 5 minutes walk away. Could also hop on the bus tours from outside Tube station. Rooms were very clean & modern, staff really helpful & breakfast also good. Would definately go back.

Checked in to be greeted by one of the friendliest reception teams I've experienced in a long time. Advice for transport was sound and when learning some of our party was running late one gentleman on the desk offered to call ahead to the restaurant we were going to push back our table.
Breakfast team were fantastic, particularly the hostess who looked after us well, and the yummy omelette's made fresh to order by the chef!
Only one tiny problem........we were only there for one night :( must stay longer next time!

Right between Earl's Court and Gloucester tube/metro stations. The breakfast buffet is excellent! Rooms are on the small side. when I first checked in, I was put on the 1st floor and I asked to be moved to a higher level but when they moved me, I was surprised that my room had no view, I was facing a brick wall. At check out I noticed that they charged me a no-show fee (145pound), and when I explained that I actually arrived at 6AM, they added it to the total stay for that day for a total of 340pound just for that night!! I still need to sort that out with Marriott accounting here in the US. Other than that, service was pretty good and staff were friendly. I would consider it for my next trip.
