“marriott quality, good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2012

The hotel is of usual Marriott standards. Good beds, excellent breakfast. I stayed in this hotel several times. I like its proximity to great South Kensigton museums and the quieter end of Hyde Park. Albert's Hall is also nearby. The location is also good for higher end shoppers. Harrod's, Harvey Nichols, Burberry are a short walk away. A lot of reasonable restaraunts are nearby. One tip - I would not recommend eating in Cromwell Road restaurants. Much more selection and better restaurants are close by in Earl's Court and Old Bromptoon Road. Cromwell Rd itself is busy and not very attractive. The area between it and Hyde park is much nicer. The one drawback I can think of - the hotel used to have swimming pool and sauna. They were closed this time - supposedly for renovation.

stayed there with few colleagues in Oct 2012. There was no hot water for 2 days in a row. I was shocked at the callous attitude of the management - "we are aware of the situation" is what they said repeatedly. They were charging 200 pounds per day !! There was no apology from the management, other than a letter on the day I was leaving. I was expecting the management to personally call me as I fell sick due to cold water baths

I DO NOT recommend anyone to stay here.

This hotel is a find. Near the tube, bus stops and museums. Look for discounts on line.

The staff is very helpful. A Tesco is across the street. Very clean. Numerous sites in walking distance. Earl's Court tube stop has lifts.

The hotel is an excellent base for Kensington, particularly the Science, V&A or Natural History museums which are within 15 minutes walk. The Albert Hall is another 5 minutes walk away. There is a bus stop very close (buses to Knightsbridge, Hyde Park Corner and Baker Street) and the tube is only 5 minutes walk.

Hotel has reasonable sized bar, with comfortable seating. The bar also has a food menu and we thought the small desserts for £5 were a bargain for a large hotel in London. And very nice they were too.

The room itself was nicely decorated and looked recently refurbished, it was also very clean and quiet. No issues with bed or bathroom and room had good sized TV, desk and armchair.

Staff throughout the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast had a good selection of fruits and cereals and the usual "Full English" - but also a omelette and waffle chef for a freshly cooked option. Pastries etc were all excellent.

We stayed at the London Marriott Kensington for one night last weekend and a pleasant stay it was. Our room was very comfortable, clean and extremely quiet and the staff throughout the hotel were very courteous. Breakfast was of great variety and everything was very fresh. We enjoyed an evening at the theatre and returned to the hotel for a drink in the bar which had a lovely atmosphere. Would definately return to this hotel.

We had an extremely satisfying here, and would certainly stay again. It ticked all the boxes, and delivered everything you expect from a cental London hotel of this price range, and then some. Breakfast was a particular highlight, and one which we eagerly anticipate in the future.

Located 5-10 mins walk from Earl's Court tube station, within walking distance to Natural History Musuem, V&A Musuem. A good location for tourist.

The hotel floor space is rather small, room is small but reasonable by London / European standard. Room furniture is dated, but the bedding is very very very comfortable. I was able to have a good night rest for my intensive business trip.
