“Ordinary”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2013 via mobile

We often stay here as it is central for cricket, shopping and the theatre. Rooms are small, but clean and the beds are very comfortable. Breakfast is very basic, over cooked food sitting under heated lamps for ages, very little fruit and very, very busy. Certainly not worth paying full rate. You do get half an hours free Wi Fi each day, which is excellent.

Dear Guest,

First of all, I would like to thank you for returning to the hotel despite having a bad experience in the bar on your last stay. Also, your comments are very important to us as they help us to improve our standards continuously. We have taken your comments on the breakfast on board and are looking to improve our fruit selection in the morning to suit your taste should you return in the near future.

Feel free to contact me to book your room on your next stay.

with kind regards

Booked via lastmin.com and had some trouble when trying to check in. Not sure if that's cos I booked that morning or whether reception messed up. Anyway, service was good and was helped with bags when arrived in car park. Room are clean and relatively modern. Quite small but average for London. About a 10 min walk to nearest tube. Nice area and not many people about at night.

We stayed here after finding a last minute deal for our trip to London. The hotel is between two tube stations and perfectly located for easy access to the London attractions while being out of the way enough to be a cosy, quiet retreat. The room was compact but beautifully set out and clean. We had a fabulous view over London which we did not expect for a value-standard room. Overall, I would happily stay here again.

Room Tip: The higher in the hotel you are, the better the views!

Stayed here for a couple of nights for the price it was fine. Our heating was broken and instead of changing our room we got a small electric radiator which wasn't up to the job, this wasn't even by the staff. If you get a good price you won't be dissapointed but I can recommend it further than that.

We stayed for the weekend at the Danubius Hotel to celebrate our anniversary. Booked the hotel after recommendation from a friend and glad we did. Nice hotel, great staff and a lovely restaurant. Had dinner in the hotel restaurant which was a carvery evening and the food and spread was fantastic. Good location close to Regents Park, Camden Town and Baker Street. St Johns Wood tube station is close by and the Lords cricket stadium is across the road. We will be definitely be back.

We had two nights at the Danubius- the hotel was lovely- nice quiet and decent-sized room. Our package included an evening meal and breakfast which were both really good- carvery in the evening was amazing, and the buffet style breakfast had plenty of choice- both English breakfast pieces and fruit/pastries, cereal.
The location next to Regents park was nice, but there did not appear to be many restaurants/bars close to the hotel to wander out to in the evening. The weather was terrible (obviously not the hotel's fault!) so we ate in the bar the second evening- the food was very nice again, and not too badly priced. The nearest tube stations (St Johns Wood and Baker Street) are about 10 mins away, so if it was a bit drier we could have explored further in the evening.
All the staff that we encountered were very friendly and helpful, both on reception and in the restaurant/bar areas.
All in all a lovely hotel, but the location was maybe a bit too isolated for us.

We read the reviews and came expecting an average hotel but we got better than that. We would recommend this hotel to family and friends. Our room was on the top floor with views over regents park. A comfortable large double bed a dear and a small table. We had both bath and shower facilities en suite. It was spotlessly keen and the service from check in to departure was very good. We ate in the carvery for a exceptionally good price. I had perfectly cooked beef and also tried the tasty lamb. At breakfast there were expensive organic fruit and vegetable juices available free of charge. For the price we paid we consider this the best deal we've ever had. Thanks to the staff for the effort they made.
