“Good localisation with a good service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2013

I went in his hotel by chance. The ambiance is nice and beautiful. Staff, a lot of French people, are kind, polite and useful. The hotel with his free rom open any time for free coffee and soft drinks is an excellent point.

The hotel was clearly clean and my room was perfect. A bit small, especially for the bed and that is THE bad point. Unfortunately, the wifi is really expensive.
Concierge are adorable and always ready to answer to your request.

A bit cheaper could be a good option if the hotel wanted to get me as a regular guest.

We stayed in The Gore a number of months ago as we were attending a show at The RAH.

It's a nicely decorated and very clean hotel. We were welcomed efficiently, though not warmly by the staff.

Our room was on the very top floor. The lift was out of action for our entire stay and it was quite a hike. The Green Room was also closed for the duration of our stay.

The reason why we won't return though was the stifling heat at night. The only relief was to open a window. This created another problem - road traffic noise. We did ask several staff members for a solution. However, none was forthcoming. This was very disappointing.

I realise that this was not the experience of others, and am very sad that I cannot report in a similar way. I really wanted to love his hotel.

The Gore was a wonderful find! I didn't want to spend a fortune on a hotel in London (which is very easy to do), but I wanted something that had character and convenience and charm. The Gore has all three. The staff couldn't do enough for me. They were welcoming, friendly and incredibly helpful when it came to making and then rearranging my dinner reservations. The rooms, while small, are clean and attractive and the Frette linens and towels give them just the right amount of luxury. Coffee and tea are served all day in the very comfortable Green Room, if you just want to relax for a few hours, and for a nominal fee, you can use the excellent gym facilities of the University just around the corner. The location is unbeatable as is the price for a hotel this luxurious and distinct. I highly recommend it.

We stayed 5 nights in a lovely room facing Queens Gate just south of Kensington Park. All cocierges proved helpful here but a big shout out to Tony for making our first trip to London easier. We especially appreciated the thick towels and crisp linens and respect for privacy from staff. We will stay again when we return to London.

We have just returned from a stay at the Gore Hotel in Kensington, West London. The hotel is full of character and old world beauty and charm but with the most modern of facilities. It is such a lovely and relaxing place to stay. The food is excellent and the quality of the fresh fruit for breakfast is an added pleasure. Under its excellent Manager Ariane, her staff are most friendly, courteous and helpful and make you feel really at home! Its location lends itself to someone who wants to stay in a lovely part of London and be near the Royal Albert Hall, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Natural History Museum and the wonderful walks by the serpentine in Hyde Park. Not alone is it convenient to the centre of London, but it is also near the West-end Theatres with their quality plays, revues and musicals. We would highly recommend it!

Room Tip: All rooms are of a high quality with beautiful furnishings

Possibly the best service I have ever received from a hotel. Whether you are a tourist or in London on business, this hotel goes above and beyond to look after it's guests. It's full of history and grandeur without being stuffy. The staff and friendly and efficient and the cocktails are pretty good too!.....and the beds are so high off the ground you can hold meetings under them! I cannot recommend it enough. It is also just round the corner from the Royal Albert Hall, so if you're attending an event there (as we were) it is perfect!

Room Tip: My deluxe room had the most amazing bath, I felt like royalty.
