“Location is the best thing.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2014 via mobile

Stayed here for my birthday and a few night trip. So we thought we'd pay a bit extra for the hotel and the quality. But when you get there you realise your paying for the locations. The rooms are ok, a bit on the small side but the bathrooms are nice. Breakfast is good and continues to 11(I think). Overall the hotel is good but I would probably find somewhere a bit cheaper in a similar location next time.

The location was ideal! Walking distance to almost everything we wanted to do, with a bus stop and underground very nearby as well. Restaurants and theaters nearby. The staff was helpful and the rooms were just fine. On the small side (compared to American hotels), but very clean and reasonably priced. If ever I visit London again I will definitely stay there!

I stayed here with friends for two nights and I can say that although the rooms were not large they were well furnished and spotlessly clean. The bathroom had a shower over the bath which was fine and it all looked as if it had been recently upgraded as the furnishings and fittings were very bright and sparkling. As well as the tea and coffee making facilities we had bottles water which was complimentary and replenished daily.
The concierge was extremely helpful and the hotel offered many trips and experiences.
The breakfast was very good although the fruit selection could have been better as I felt that it had been done on the cheap. Service in the restaurant and bar area was very good even although the hotel was very busy over the weekend that we stayed. Would I recommend this hotel? Yes I think that it is good value for money considering how close it is to many theatres and restaurants. I would certainly stay there again.

The Strand Palace is a nice hotel in a convenient part of London - close to the British Museum and Trafalgar Square and a comfortable walk to London Tower. It was also a short Underground ride to the Chelsea Hospital, the site of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, our primary reason for being in London on this trip. The rooms are clean and modern, if no more spacious than most European hotel rooms, and the staff is friendly and helpful. There are good places to eat nearby (the Wellington down the street is a very nice pub), so we never did try any of the hotel restaurants.

My third stay at the excellent Strand Palace Hotel. Once again I had a great time and have no complaints. This hotel is in a fantastic location for Covent Garden, Leicester Square and much of Central London. That I think this is it's main selling point but certainly not it's only one. It offers great value, nice clean modern rooms and a long list of hotel facilities. The reception staff are amazing as was every other member of staff I came into contact with during my stay, well except for the nightshift concierge who always looked down at the floor instead of greeting us when returning to the hotel at night, a smile would have been nice. I was happy to be given a front facing room on the 6th floor and although The Strand is not the most scenic view from a hotel room it was a fantastic room and I had no issues with noise from the street below, only what can be expected from a city centre hotel. I look forward to my next stay but in the meantime, enjoy yours.

This hotel is strategically located : on the Strand at 3 minutes walking from Covent Garden or 10 minutes from Trafalgar square. It's 5 minutes walking from Charing Cross tube station
I had the room 335 and it was perfect as single room good size for room ( you still have space even with a suitcase) and for bathroom great Wifi and quiet.
my room was clean as the bath room. you have also a safe and a set for coffee and tea and a bottle of water replaced every day. A minibar would be a great final touch. but the hotel offer a room service 24h/day
I didn't took the breakfast as i found it expensive when other alternative are available just front of the Hotel ( like pret a manger or Starbucks)

Just spent two nights at the Strand Palace Hotel. Enjoyed our stay and found the hotel central for getting anywhere within London. Two minutes walk to Covent Garden and 5 minutes walk to Trafalgar Square. A swift checkin and all staff helpful and obliging. Our room was on floor 8 overlooking the front of the hotel. Smallish but adequate and nicely decorated. Also wooden shutters stopped the noise during the night but if it had been a hot evening it would have been uncomfortable to sleep as there was only a small window and the shutters blocked all the ventilation. No air conditioning so maybe not too good on a very hot summer's day.
The foyer and bar area very bland and uninviting - we certainly did not want to use the bar at all. The buffet breakfast which was included in the price was good, lots of choice and good quality and considering how busy it was, it was well organised and we did not have to wait too long to be seated. Definitely would use the hotel again mainly for its location but all in all a very enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: Some rooms are inside so do check if a window is important to you.
