Stayed here for 1 night - thankfully!!
Reception staff - v busy - just going thru motions - no pleasantries
Room - tiny with hideous bathroom - mould on walls - very rusty shower rail - burn marks in lampshades
Noise - dreadful with some sort of pump going off every 45 seconds!!
Breakfast - just about worth the money but nothing to write home about
Location - OK 10 mins walk to Kings Cross
Overall a very tired tatty hotel which you should use only if your on a tight budget as my Company is at present and staying for a very short period of time - having said that it's still nearly £100 a night!!

To be honest I was really worried when I read the reviews on here after I booked to stay two nights at the London Farringdon, however I was pleasantly surprised. Check in was quick even though it was really busy and the staff were polite and accommodating, I had a single room that I requested at the back of the hotel, it was very clean, cosy and comfortable, if a little dated, but that wasnt a problem to me as it was well maintained. There were plenty tea and coffee supplies in the room which were topped up daily and a nice flat screen TV, plenty of seating and wardrobe space for a single room.
The bathroom was also very clean with constant hot water and a nice powerful shower. I slept soundly both nights in a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was very nice with plenty of choice, served in a clean dining room.

I honestly cant fault this hotel, I agree the decor is a little dated but its not dirty as some reviews state, it is very comfortable, clean and cheap! Its also very close to central London which in itself is a huge bonus.

I have used Travelodge a lot and I would definately return to the London Farringdon and recommend it to others. My advice would be dont believe everything you read, ask for a room at the back away from the lifts and as long as you arent expecting a Marriott type hotel you will be very comfortable here

Let me start by stating that I'm not a snob when it comes to Travelodge. For a no-frills enterprise which does exactly what it says on the tin, they CAN offer excellent value for money when done right - such as the Euston one which I've used several times in the past. Alas, the Farringdon one is far from the pride of their fleet. My room (509) was badly laid-out, with absolutely no room to move, and none-too-clean. The furniture was shabby and dated and the bathroom merely adequate. Unlike other Travelodges I've stayed in, I got the impression no-one cared about this one; the whole place felt unloved by its staff. Thankfully, I was only there one night. I'm not sure I could have endured a second as it was such a depressing experience. On the plus side, it has a good location, being just a ten minute brisk walk from King's Cross.

The noise was one thing but the fact the window didnt close and then let the rain in was even worse.
The double bed was two singles pushed together without a method of securing them and topped with what i can only decribe as two cloth covered joined up springs. I have suggested that the hotel state that they offer room 323 as a contraceptive room as the beds come apart at the mere thought of pleasure! Come on Travel Lodge I know you can do better.
