“Beautiful suite,great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

We were most impressed by the Junior Suite we stayed in,beautiful furnishings and such a comfortable bed...what brand of mattress topper does the hotel use?
The Hotels location is great. We were attending an event at Hyde Park which was about 5 minutes walk away.
All staff we met were most helpful and I would recommend the Hotel to anyone.

Great location. That`s all. No, free WiFi. Huge hotel with about 900 rooms. Long queue at the reception and even longer queue in the restaurant for breakfast which is just OK. You have to wait for 15-20 min for a table and then another 10 min to get your food. The guy who is “managing” this long queue has absolutely no idea about hospitality and good customer service, speaking like an Army commander. After I have checked in I found out that the sink in my room was blocked, so it took 24 hours to fix it and I had to ask 3 times to fix it. Cleaning is not good, as the floor in the bathroom has no signs of having being cleaned at all. If you stay there just overnight, it would be fine, otherwise would not recommend it.

Room Tip: ask for the renovated room

Stayed here for one night when we went to the Radio 2 Festival in a Day at Hyde Park. Great location for both Hyde Park and girly shopping the following day. Stayed in newly refurbished executive twin room. Lovely room, bed so comfy and amazing breakfast the following morning. You would not believe you were in Central London as so quiet in the room. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great hotel in great location, would definitely recommend.

Booked executive room......
Arrived in the hotel, had to queue approx 10 mins to check in
Room was ok, nothing special, bathroom floor was dirty, grouting around bath need replacing not encouraging to have a soak! Limes ale around toilet handle. Wine bottle tops under the beds. View over looked onto other bedrooms rather like prisoner cell block H. Very disappointing for the price I paid.

Room Tip: Paid top price...... But got Travelodge quality

Stayed at this hotel for 8 LONG nights in September.
First night - we arrived at 11.30pm after a flight from Budapest that was delayed.
At 1.45am the fire alarm sounds - turned out to be a false alarm - NO explanation from hotel staff who had absolutely no idea what was going on - the organisations skills of the so called fire marshals was abysmal, god forbid is there was ever a real fire emergency. They had no idea who was left in the hotel, and a hotel employee smiling like a cheshire cat did not help. Hwen people were asked to return we were hearded into elevators that were overloaded - ours stopped between floors and slowly moved up. An absolute PR disaster for the hotel - no communication from anyone. A simple letter under the door of each room apologising for having over 500 people on the footpath for an hour would have helped, first move - train your people in evacuation, second move - get rid of your PR people.
We stayed in the renovated part of the hotel, nice spacious rooms with good bathrooms and amentities, lousy wifi. We could hear doors banging until early morning during our stay. the doors to rooms shut hard and the sound reverberates into rooms nearby.
The hotel is very popular with customers from the Middle East and tour groups.
The Executive Club - a bit of a joke, tables that are far too high for the chairs set with them, staff were pleasent though.
Unfortunately I would not recommend this hotel and will not stay there again.
Overall rating POOR and not good value

Room Tip: If you must stay here ask for a renovated room such as those on Level 7

Stayed here in July for an anniversary surprise with my boyfriend.
Amazing hotel in a prime location. On arrival we were upgraded to a suite, which was absolutely stunning, and spacious.
Staff were extremely friendly and really helpful when it came to suggestions on where to eat locally.
London on a whole is an amazing city and there is so much to see. Highly recommend this hotel if you want to be amongst all the shopping highlights.
Would definitely stay here again. Breakfast was spot on too!!

We were booked here in an Insights Tour of the UK. When we checked in three weeks ago, we were give a room on their third floor. The room was extremely dated, had paper thin walls, the bathroom moldy and unacceptable. We were unable to sleep the entire three day stay because the floor was so noisy and the family staying in the next room would not go to sleep until 2 in the AM. We were there during a fire alarm and needed to leave until the alarm stopped. Our safety in this hotel was in question since the staff provided no communication nor direction to its patrons at any time. Need to train staff in handling fire emergencies or any emergency that would require total evacuation of the building.

We returned three weeks later for an overnight stay and insisted on a different room. They changed our room from the third floor to the renovated seventh floor. It was like night and day! The room is fresh and clean, spacious and the bathroom bright and modern. Most off all, very quiet!

However, due to their handling of the fire emergency and our experience with the initial stay, will not stay here again when in London. There are many other hotels to select from.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the seventh floor facing the "courtyard" away from Oxford street. These...

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Thistle Marble Arch hotel, located just off Oxford Street, takes its name from one of London’s best-known landmarks. Originally built on the Mall as a new gateway to Buckingham Palace, the Arch remains an exclusive thoroughfare as only members of the royal family and the King's Troop, Royal Horse Artillery, are allowed to pass through it.As the name implies, the Arch is made from Italian white Carrara marble, a favourite material of the Art Deco movement in the 1920s and 30s, when Thistle Marble Arch was built. Today, the hotel is one of the few genuine Art Deco buildings left in London. It is also one of the few larger Oxford Street hotels with 692 bedrooms, including 281 deluxe and executive rooms and Suites. We also have our own Just Gym workout facilities on-site, an alternative to a brisk stroll around nearby Hyde Park. ... more   less
