Enjoyed this hotel room, keeping in mind the european standard of room sizes i didn't find it too small. The room was very clean and the hotel staff was pleasant. Stayed in an end room and didn't notice noise except the showers running and doors closing. The lift was a little tight tho :) I especially loved the location as it was close to a tube and Sainsbury's grocery store which was used very often at the end of a long day of sightseeing. I would stay again.

Straight up, this hotel is quite nice and what you would expect for your money. It did not however exceed my expectations, which I generally like. We booked a contemporary double because we didn't fancy the compact double, which the name suggests, would be quite small. However, we were amazed and amused by the size of the room we were given. I automatically assumed we were given a compact room, but when I went to inquire, I was told twice that it was indeed a contemporary double. There was barely room to move!! Also, I am not tall, but the shower head was below my hair and it was a bit of a struggle.

The good points. The staff were friendly, the residents bar was good and the rooms, despite being small, were clean and comfortable.

An average hotel, not a great hotel.

Having just returned from a five nights stay at the Quality Crown Hotel in Kensington we are looking forward to a good nights sleep! There is virtually no sound proofing between adjoining rooms to the extent that you can hear everything that your neighbours get up to and I mean everything, from snoring to the nocturnal activities of a young couple! All rooms have interconnecting doors whereby even normal tone conversations can be heard. This overshadowed what was an otherwise satisfactory hotel for this price region. Our room, an executive double, was clean, a reasonable size and nicely furnished (any smaller would have been a tight squeeze) It was not possible to open a window however to get some fresh air which would have been nice. On the plus side, the staff were pleasant, the continental breakfast though basic was acceptable, the foyer and bar/ lounge areas were modern, comfortable and nicely decorated. The hotel was an equal distance from both Gloucester Road and Earls Court tube stations, about a ten minute walk. We would have had no hesitation in returning to this hotel or recommending it if it were not for the paper thin walls and no guarantee of a decent nights sleep! And a final tip if you still intend to stay at this hotel, you can purchase ear plugs in Boots beside Gloucester Road tube station.

Updating a report of this hotel I made two years ago, I was pleased to find a vast improvement in the level of service since my last stay. The foyer and reception area was clean and tidy and there was a pleasant, friendly welcome from the receptionist. Check in was smooth and efficient and I was allocated a room at the front of the hotel. The rooms seem to be very well insulated from outside noise, so despite being on a main road there was very little noise from traffic. Rooms are fairly small, but were sufficient and my room had plenty of cupboard and wardrobe space. The room had complimentary tea/coffee making facilities, a trouser press, iron and ironing board. Standard television with a good selection of free channels and internet access in the room.

The bathroom was very clean and well stocked with supplies of towels and supplies of shower gel, saps and shampoos. There was air con in the room which kept it at a comfortable temperaure.

Breakfast was much improved since my last stay and standards were noticeably higher. The restaurant was well staffed and the waiting staff were all friendly, attentive and efficient. Guests were offfered a continetal breakfast which seemed to offer the usual fare, although an upgrade to full cooked breakfast was on offer for a very modest fee. I would highly recommend upgrading to the full cooked breakfast which was tasty and was very good value for money.

The hotel is well placed for Earls Court, Olympia and is also a short walk away from the Museums. It is located in quite a nice leafy part of London and is a short walk from the tube station so is handy for both business and tourists.

While the rooms are fairly small, I would have no hesitation staying here again on business or leisure.
