“Stunning hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2013

I got a great sale rate straight from the hotel's own website and booked a two night stay. From the stunning architecture of the building, the sumptuous decor, the friendly service, the quality furnishings, pristine cleanliness, not to mention the line-up of Elemis products in the bathroom, to the location (Embankment station), this was a great choice. Right across the river from the London Eye, on the doorstep of Trafalgar Square, Whitehall, Big Ben, a few tube stops to the theatre district and Covent Garden, there were loads of landmarks and must-see locations within walking distance. It is a high-end, luxury hotel and the special price I paid does take into account my review. Check-in was friendly and efficient. Bed was extremely comfortable and the room was classy and spacious. Underfloor heating in the bathroom and the pressure of the overhead shower nearly blasts you into the river Thames! Free WI-FI, in-room safe, slippers, towelling robes, iron, ironing board and controls for heating and lighting. Forget 'Do not Disturb' signs, they have electronic ones. Didn't eat-in as expensive. Drinks are too. Two cocktails with added service fee came to just under £30. If you get a special rate, go for it, you won't be disappointed.

Thank you for the comprehensive description of your stay and our hotel, it has left me with very little to add apart from, that we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us.

Our food and beverage operation is very popular, and we get a lot of non residents come and choose to dine with us. But I can assure you we do check that our pricing is in line with other 5 star properties in the local area.

I hope you will look out for further promotions on our web site, so that we can have the pleasure of welcoming you back the next time you are in London.

Kind regards,

“Excellent location, luxury hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

This is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location and did not disappoint. The staff are very friendly and provide an excellent service. The hotel is beautifully decorated, and spotless. We stayed in executive rooms which were very spacious with beautiful decor and all imaginable amenities.

Having stayed here twice, the air conditioning unit in the rooms are a little noisy-however the extremely comfortable beds more than make up for it, and the bathrooms are very luxurious!

Whether facing the river or facing whitehall, the view from your room is likely to be mesmerising. Would certainly recommend The Royal Horseguards to family and friends, and would certainly stay here again.

Room Tip: ask for a river view if possible

Thank you for taking the time to write such a wonderful review of our hotel. We are very fortunate to have such a good location in central London. Our staff works hard to make sure that our guests receive a 5* treatment and it is wonderful to receive such positive feedback concerning them.

I was pleased to hear that you have stayed with us before, but was disappointed to discover that you found the air-conditioning units noisy during these stays. If you would like to contact me with room numbers then I can have this looked in to.

Your description of the views from the hotel and the fact that you would recommend us just makes us look forward to welcoming you back again in the not to distant future.

Kind regards,

“Relaxing,Great Location,Pleasant Staff,”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2013

We travelled to London for leisure purposes and my Wife’s 40th birthday celebration.
On booking I asked for a river view room if possible? - When we arrived at the hotel to check in we were allocated a river view room with views of the London eye, Big Ben and the surrounding area etc... Spectacular at night! The room was very clean, TV in shower cubicle!
Before we travelled I had ordered flowers to be sent to the hotel addressed to my wife,
I telephoned the hotel and spoke to a pleasant lady named Corrine prior to make sure this was ok and asked for the flowers to be given to my Wife on check in, to my surprise Corrine had also arranged Chocolates and sweats in our room on arrival (Many Thanks’ this all went down well).
To Summarise we really enjoyed our stay at the Horse Guards Hotel, Great location, Pleasant Staff, Good Value, And a mix of old architecture combined with new decor.

Room Tip: Rooms with a river side view make it a little more special!

It was great to read that you chose us for such a special occasion as your wife’s special birthday. We always try our very best to make sure our guest requests are granted but It does depend upon availability. I was pleased to hear that Corrine was able to go that extra mile to make sure that you had a special time with us and I will be passing your wonderful comments on to her.

We look forward to opening up the front doors to welcome you back to the hotel again in the future.

“Lovely service, beautiful hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

We only had one night in London & decided to treat ourselves to a little luxury. The great service at the hotel started at the door. The staff were extremely helpful, the decor very beautiful and the rooms very comfortable. The air conditioning in our bedroom was a little noisy but we could have turned it off had we wanted to. We only ate breakfast in the hotel; the selection was great but we have had better, more flavoursome full English breakfasts elsewhere. Wouldn't stop me from staying there again though.

The location of the hotel is so central and close to many attractions. I'd definitely recommend my friends and family to stay at this hotel.

“A fantastic five star hotel in the best possible location!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

This is a wonderful hotel, beautifully decorated and it was made all the nicer by the friendly, helpful staff. The location is second to none; it’s just around the corner from the Houses of Parliament and all of the major London attractions. We stayed in an Executive King room which was very spacious (by London standards) and it contained a lovely bed, modern, stylish furnishings and a TV in the bathroom. What more could you ask for??? I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Royal Horseguards – it was five star luxury and service at a very reasonable price.

Room Tip: Ask for a river view!!!!

Thank you for posting such a wonderful review of our hotel. Your description of our rooms and the location is more than we could ask for, although we should thank our Victorian ancestors for a lot of it!! But I am most delighted to read that our staff provided wonderful service, which was the finishing touch.

It is nice to know that you would recommend us to others but we hope we will be able to welcome you back again the next time you are visiting London.
