“Ticks all the boxes but room was cold”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

Our second stay here was very good on the whole. The Horseguards' location can't be beat. Our delux double on the 6th floor had a great view from St Pauls to the London Eye: in the winter when there are no leaves on the trees it was fine, but maybe ask for floor 7 and upwards at other times. We were there during a cold snap and found it cold in the night - even my husband who's usually like and oven! Duvets are thin and there are no spare blankets in the wardrobe as you'd expect, so you need to ask for extra bedding before you retire for the night.

Room Tip: ask for riverside floor 7 and upwards

I am sorry we did not tick the hot box during your last stay. I was disappointed to read that you found the room cold at night, and I hope Housekeeping were able sort out the bedding to ensure you still slept well. We always have extra heaters available, as some of our guests that come from warmer climates always find London cold. When you come back for your 3rd visit, we will be happy to place on in your room for you.

We look forward to becoming you back again.

Kind regards,

My husband and I stayed at this hotel several years ago for 1 week approx Nov/Dec 7 years ago and can't say enough wonderful things about it. Wonderful service, great room, helpful courteous staff, and the location is the best! Came back to London a few years later with my daughter stayed at different hotel, different location...big mistake!

I am pleased we did not disappoint on your return visit. Just make sure it is not 7 years before your return again! We will make sure we still have the same wonderful staff, service, rooms and location next time you are back.

We managed to find a good deal that made this hotel within our budget. The hotel is full of character, the rooms clean and a good size for central London but it was the location down a quiet back street but 2 minutes from the Thames and a few minutes walk into the hubbub of London that made this hotel so special.

Our fantastic location is hard to imagine until you experience it. It is just sooooo convenient for all the major sights and events in London. And the best bit of all, is that it is sooo quiet a night, so a good nights sleep is always on the cards!.

Keep a look out for our next room offer!

Very splendid hotel. The rooms are a nice mix of traditional furniture with modern elements, tv, ipod music port, free wifi in the whole hotel. The gym is pretty small. Breakfast tasty. The reception desk is multilingual

Very splendid house. Not cheap. I had a small deluxe room, see pics. Mix of old style and modern technical equipment fits. Gym ok. Free wifi in the whole hotel. In my package breakfast was included. Multi-lingual reception.

2 beds in the room small but adequate room. Bath also on the small size, but typical for European hotels. A fine place to rest your head at night. Convenient location to London Eye, Embarkment Tube stop, Abby, shopping and sites.

I am pleased your stay met your main requirements. I am sorry you found the room a little small, but as I am sure you understand we are restricted by the history of the building.

We hope it will not put you off from staying with us again.

My husband and I stayed for one night in October to attend a dinner dance. All staff we came into contact with were very polite, helpful and attentive. The bedroom was very nice, with lovely touches such as the iPod docking station and underfloor heating. The bed itself was extremely comfortable. The hotel is situated close to underground links to all central London attractions, and is close to the river Thames for nice walks. All in all a lovely hotel, a great concierge service and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend and stay again. I know there are cheaper hotels, but this is worth the extra.

We treasure your recommendation!

I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay, in particular the service you received from the team. They work so hard to ensure every aspect of a guests stay is memorable of all the right reasons!!!

We receive some lovely comments about our rooms, especially how comfortable the beds are. I am pleased you agree.

We hope to see you soon.
