“Nelson Mandela's cell on Robin island had more space”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Hotel rooms ( and we experienced 3 different ones ) are tiny ,10 foot by 6 foot with a 18 inch entrance into a 30 inch square shower where all you can do is stand , no moving of arms possible .First room was a single with a 4 foot bed pushed up against the wall and they called this a double room . This was small for one person let alone 2 people. Despite numerous complaints to disinterested reception staff we were promised an" upgrade " after night one which we later found out was being moved upstairs from a basement room to the third floor !! After 10 o clock on our second night we eventually got room 101 which I think is the only room in this hotel up to any sort of standard. Excuses such as " Well you are in the centre of London and this is only a 3 star hotel " are not good enough for such crammed conditions and cavalier attitude. Stay well away from this hotel if you want any form of comfort try

Dear Guest,

I am sorry to hear about your negative experiences The Oliver Plaza.

This seems to be at odds with the majority of positive reviews posted on TripAdvisor as you will see below.

Our building is a converted building - indeed, just like most of the small, individual hotels in the area. Therefore our rooms have different sizes and shapes. I am really sorry that you felt the rooms are too small - we do have rooms with various sizes, like the room you finally were given.

Ultimately, I am really sorry if you felt the staff's attitude and willingness to help wasn't up to your standards - rest assured, it will be investigated.

Best regards,
Kavin

Don't wear your seatbelt on the way to this hotel. Death would be more comfortable. And it probably comes with far better staff. Worst hotel and staff experience in all my travels.

Rooms might as well be outside they are so noisy. Also terribly small even for just one person. The staff could not be more rude and when they weren't being rude, they were busy being useless. I come to London every other month and this is by far the worst hotel. It's three stars but giving it two would be generous. Will never be staying here again. Not even if they paid me.

This hotel is close to earls court underground station and venue. It provides a good breakfast each morning and tea and coffee in the room. The only downside is the breakfast room is quite small. The bathroom was very clean and I can be fussy about things like that!! Twin room was small but bigger rooms were available but you may want to ring and request this as the hotel doesn't have many rooms so you can't necessarily swap. Would definitely say here again!

Dear Valued Guest

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at Oliver Plaza.

The location of our hotel is often positively commented - easy access to the underground. Our housekeeping team works very hard to provide cosy, clean and well maintained rooms. We also provide free WI-FI and a choice of continental and buffet breakfast - all these combined with great prices and excellent customer service.

I hope to welcome you back at the Oliver Plaza again.

Kind Regards,
Kavin

It is difficult to find a hotel in London at a reasonable price. The Oliver Plaza is among those hotels. Hotel rooms are relatively small (unless you book a large family room), but they are nicely refurbished and clean. Hotel management is friendly.

We have just got back from staying at the Oliver Plaza for a few days and were very impressed. The hotel is located less than 5 minute walk to either tube entrance at earls court (serving the Piccadilly line and central and district lines). It is also a couple of minutes walk also from numerous resteraunts (such as gbk, nando's, zizi's etc) and convenience shops including a chemist, a boots and a coop. This made the location very practical for a young couple travelling in London.

On arrival the reception desk staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We were directed to the room and used a lift as we were on the second floor. The lift to be honest is very small but serves its purpose. All communal areas were very clean and tidy.

When entering our room it was also very clean and tidy, although compact was plenty of room for us and the bathroom was also clean and tidy.

The shower was powerful and good temperatures adjusting and working easily. The room was kept clean daily by staff and sheets and towels were always fresh and clean.
We both slept well each night. Noise was very minimal and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was served 7.30 until 9.30 I believe and we were able to easily get a table every day.

There was a tv with free view in the room which was ideal and there was a hair dryer which we didn't use. There was a small difficulty using the lock on the first day but a quick call to reception and the helpful staff resolved this.

Breakfast was included and offered a good variety of continental breakfast. The breakfast room was clean and we were offered good service by staff. On departure we were also able to leave our luggage in the luggage room free of charge which was very useful for a central London hotel.

The cost of the stay is unknown as it was a gift however I'd say it was defiantly good value for money as it suited our every need. We would most defiantly stay again if we were staying in the area.

Overall. Two very happy travellers.

In May 2013 my son and I stayed at this B&B. I have been travelling to London over the years and generally find that it is very difficult to find a quality B&B in central London that you feel that you are getting value for money.

We were delighted with our stay at Oliver Plaza in Earls Court for the following reasons:
* Smart, contemporary room which had a good size bathroom that you could move around in. The bed linen was clean and clean towels provided daily. it was a warm apartment and had a window that you could open for fresh air.

*Excellent reception/management service. We had a slight issue within our apartment and they sorted it out immediately and apologised for the inconvenience - very gratifying to know ones concerns are taken seriously and attended to promptly. Well done Oliver Plaza

* Oliver Plaza is a 7 minute walk from Earls Court tube station - which is absolutely perfect if you are travelling with a suitcase on the tube. So convenient.

*Good breakfast supplied - clean breakfast room, good service and continental breakfast that was very good

* Lots of eateries nearby - great Hotel nearby that sells wonderful fish and chips [seems to be a bit of a queque for seating when we went so go early.

Downside:

* No microwave in the apt - this is an essential cause lots of places in London sell packaged convenience foods and to heat them up really needs a microwave. Mgmt this would be to your advantage to your complex and save the costs of heating ovens for foods.

I have been working in the accommodation industry for 6 years and was very impressed with this London accommodation

Room Tip: No lifts - so if you are elderly and or unable to carry suitcases upstairs then you need to inform m...

less than 5 minutes from earls court tube station, which is on the underground line from Heathrow airport - very handy indeed.
We found the room small but clean, bathroom fine, staff very friendly, and breakfast was much better than any other London budget hotels that we stayed in.
Would definitely stay there again,
