“Great staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2012

I was most pleased by the staff at henley House. They were accommodating, friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was fine, the cost low for London, but my non air conditioned single room was very very small. The best thing was the convenient location..easy access to the tube and also shops and restaurants .

This hotel is very good value for London, but seems a little "tired", eg one of the drawer fronts fell off, there was a large crack in the washbasin and the staircarpet is threadbare. The room itself, however, was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was excellent. Very convenient for Earls Court tube station, and lots of pubs and restaurants close by.

Very small single room, and basic shower en suite, but everything adequate for the purpose of a one night stay in London. Reception closes at 11.30p.m. and guests are given a door key with their room key, which worked OK. Helpful receptionist regarding wifi access.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2012

I had read the reviews that were less than complimentary and thought maybe folks were being too hard on the place. Unfortunately, I have to agree with some of the less than kind comments.
The good: location (Earl's Court tube stop around the corner), clean sheets, towels and bathroom (but no fan)
The bad: THE BED!!!! There were pokey springs/too soft and a large divot/hole on my side of the bed. Incredibly uncomfortable. Very grubby rugs, curtains and shabby and dingy (so questioned cleanliness of bedspread and pillows). The room and bath were small as I expected. The elevator (though I was fine with the stairs) to the third floor-was SERIOUSLY about 4ft by 4 ft. We travel light and aren't large people and had to really mash into it. So, if you can't do stairs and have a large bag-the elevator and the size of the room and bath may be a problem.
We were confirmed for three nights and left after two (they were ok with our leaving and asked if we cared to see another room-we declined).
I might suggest finding somewhere else to stay and do what you like in a day or two and then go to Windsor and stay in the Clarence Hotel and breathe a sigh of relief from the intensity and fun of London. Windsor was lovely!

Room Tip: Not the bed in room 34!!!!

Good location, very close to the metro station. Also there are many restaurants and shops around there. Staff are helpful and friendly. We stayed in a double room with our son (total 3 persons) they didn't charge us any extra fee. The hotel provides and free wifi there.

I tried to find a hotel in London with free Wi-Fi, free breakfast, close to tube station, above average review score, and under GBP 80, and after about 5-hour search and comparison, I found this lovely hotel which was best for my 2 night stay.
Room is small as expected, and shower space in the bathroom is too small, but reasonable rate covers every unsatisfied part of this hotel.
Free breakfast has cereal, yogurt, bread, cheese, jam, butter, juice, milk, and coffee.
Extra charge for bacon and egg.
Very close to Earl's Court tube station, and easy to find.
Kind reception people.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2012

I recently stayed at Henley House with a large group of students and colleagues (we practically took over the hotel). The staff was friendly and quite helpful to everyone. The rooms are what you would expect from a converted townhouse - small with thin walls, but comfortable and provided everything we needed. There was a continental breakfast as part of the room cost and it was quite good. There was also a cooked breakfast made to order which was excellent as well. The hotel itself was around the corner from Earl's Court tube station, so I was able to get the entire group there within 5 minutes.

All in all, it's a quiet, lovely hotel with an old world feel to it. I would definitely recommend it to others. Also, you can take the Piccadilly line to/from Heathrow and reach the hotel in about 35 minutes.
