“A fast London trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 days ago NEW

The lodging was well appointed, and the room we got, by being updated to a Club Room, was amazing for London! It was in the lower level, so no view, but the quiet and the cleanliness were terrific. I'd also point out the train stop was so convenient! Would stay again for sure!

Room Tip: Book early and maybe you'll get the upgrade!

Great service, really quiet, staff very attentive, unique rooms which stood out from the usual 'generic' travel lodge type room. Bathroom in 207 (club room) was really nice. Big TV on the wall. I would definitely recommend this hotel as an alternative to packed out Westminster area.

Booked this hotel due to the fact that I landed in Heathrow, had a couple of meetings in the afternoon with an early flight from City airport. The room itself was small, but adequate enough and with Hilton Paddington 2 blocks away costing double the price it was well worth it. However in the evening I asked reception about a possibility to have a taxi at 7AM to City Airport. They told me under no circumstances take the black cab and they have this great deal of 41 pounds to City Airport and extra couple of pounds for each suitcase. Taxi arrived and to my great surprise, when arriving at City Airport i was charged £61 as the taxi company had agreed with reception. With gritting teeth I paid the amount, but made a note of not staying with a hotel of lying reception workers again.

Room Tip: All rooms are quite small.

Staying at this hotel has made me join this website to leave a review as the experience was so bad.

Check in was quick and someone offered to carry our bags to our room, all downhill from there.

Once we got to our room we were greeted by the noise of a demolition team in the next door, we rang reception and were offered a room change but was told they that they will be finished at 6 and it close to this time so this was declined. At 5:55 the lights in our room go out due to a cable being cut by the workmen. A maintenance man came to fix it and asked us to stay in our room as he would be leaving the door on the latch to go in and out as he didn't have a key. He would be 5 minutes, 10 worst case scenario. This took 30 minutes to fix which made us late for our dinner reservation, no apology given.

When we got back later on the evening the room was absolutely baking, the air con didn't work but someone turned up in our room to push the button then tell us that it doesn't work in any room in our part of the building at the moment and we would need to open a window for the night.

The room itself was apparently an upgraded room but I don't see how it could have been any smaller and still fit a double bed in! The shower was also broken but everything was clean and tidy and the bed was comfortable.

When checking out I brought the above issues up and was told that the original room change which they offered, before the lights went out, was all they would do for us.

"Thank you for choosing us and please come and stay again soon"?!

+location is convenue
-the biggest room is 18sqm most are 10 including. Bathroom
-you better be slim to fit in the shower and short to not have your feet outside the bed which I still haven't figured how 2 people are supposed to sleep in there.
-old worn out mattresses
-very basic breakfast
-noise from inside and outside the hotel

Upon arriving straight off of the Heathrow Express after a nine hour flight, we were exhausted and ready to rest in our room after checking in. However upon arrival we were told that they were overbooked due to some renovation and needed to send us to another hotel and they had called a taxi that would be there shortly. It was abrupt and a bit of a shock to our system, esp since the gal at the front desk had difficulty explaining to us what was going on. She also seemed confused when we said we wanted to pay with a different credit card than the one we used to book online.

A week later we had another reservation with the same hotel and we braced to be shipped away again. However this time we were given a beautiful room across the street in the suites. It was comfortable and clean, and had a nice kitchenette that had plates, silverware, and a fridge. This allowed us to pick up fresh food at the local grocery and save money. We were also next to the elevator, which at first made us nervous due to potential noise, but ended up providing an excellent buffer and quiet evenings. We never once were woken up late night by people in the halls or in the lift.

The room was small, but enough room for our luggage and general movement. We had stayed in other rooms that were much tighter while in London and this was a breath of fresh air in comparison. We stayed in the room for about a week and never once felt cramped.

We would definitely stay again and recommend for anyone needing to stay close to Paddington Station. It was also close to Lancaster Gate Underground station, and the short walk down Craven Terrace is lined with good food, a well stocked grocery, laundry and a fun pub called The Mitre.

Room Tip: Be aware that they put a placeholder fee on your credit card before you arrive. This caused some co...

Fantastic hotel, easy walking distance to Paddington station. On the main rd about 1 min walk away many different types of restaurants. Breakfast in hotel was amazing, they made you anything you wanted even if it wasn't on the menu. The staff were fantastic, so polite and helpful. Room was slightly smaller than we thought it would be but it had everything and more that you need for a few nights stay. Definitely will be staying there again.
