The positives of this hotel were the fantastic location near the famous Hyde Park, and of course the nearby Lancaster Gate tube station. We heard from people we met along the way that the area is quite coveted and exclusive - we certainly enjoyed walking around the beautiful streets surrounding!
The negatives.. Cleanliness was only so-so. We stayed in a family room with three single beds, and the bathtub seemed hazardously slippery. Be extremely careful when climbing in or out because there are no anti-slip mats or handrails! Limited space to put your toiletries. Poor hairdryer - seemed to cause more frizzy hair than drying power. But the room was spacious, which is a surprise given the average size of London accommodation from what I have seen. However perhaps the most memorable negative on this hotel were their exorbitant prices for wifi - per 24 hours and per electronic device. Make sure to discuss multi-day wifi passes when you check in if you know you are in for a longer stay - these are marginally better value for money.
Oh, and hotel staff don't assist with your luggage. It was frustratingly amusing watching them watch us struggle through those heavy twin doors with our luggage getting stuck between one door and the next, only for them to offer assistance AFTER making our way into the reception area (no thanks to them!). But that seems the way of things in such European hotels.
