“Friendly with Comfort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2013

We booked 2 rooms for a one night stay at the Ashburn through Agoda.com. We live outside London but found it really easily at literally 5 minutes walk from Gloucester tube station. On arrival we were greeted warmly by the concierge and made feel welcome straight away. We explained that it was my partner's birthday celebration and he upgraded us free of charge which was great. The room was very quiet and comfortable, with air con, room safe, tea making facilities, TV, Fridge etc. We returned to the hotel later that evening and were welcomed in the lounge with a complimentary glass of champagne. there is a small bar which is very basic, no draft beers, just bottles & spirits. The breakfast was great as continental was included in the booking and again we were really welcomed by the staff and given fresh tea & coffee. you can order eggs etc but these are extra but we found the fresh fruit, yogurt, toast croissants, cereals etc to be sufficient. The great thing about the hotel is it's positioning as we found it so easy to get around London from here being so close to the tube and in a nice area. We checked out but we were able to leave our bags there securely all day until we had to catch the train home. Once again they offered this free of charge and were only too eager to help. We would definitely stay here again as they made our stay so easy.

Room Tip: We were on the 4th floor as rooms above are nice but have restricted ceilings. Still good rooms thou...

The rooms are very comfortable and have complimentary Wi Fi.
Staff were very helpful with any problems we had.
The air conditioning was very pleasant during the 30c plus days !
The included breakfasts and newspapers were a nice touch.
It was well located for transport and restaurants.
We would stay again!

London is a difficult place to book a hotel in , the prices a re skyhigh and the quality very variabe, to the extent that one almost fears a booking. Ashburn is oneplace that you do not have to worry about. The quality is well maintained in terms of cleanliness, breakfast choice, open wines and champagen in the bar and last but not least location. Just aroudn the corner from the tube

Good hotel located close to Tube station, Museums and Albert Hall. The rooms are a surprise as they are relatively large for such an old building and with good en-suite. The free breakfast, wifi and newspaper are good inducements although a cooked breakfast costs extra. Staff were very helpful and I really appreciated having a teapot in the room.

A very friendly and clean hotel. Especially for being in London. Good location and very helpful staff making an effort when asking for advice for restaurants etc. We will def. return to this hotel next time in London.

We stayed here for 5 nights, and it was an overall good experience. The staff were friendly and the room were great. We stayed on a "King twin" which had two seperate beds. Elsewise I think you'll get a room with one double-bed, so keep that in mind.

You have to pay 3 pounds extra to get hot dishes every morning, which is a great deal after all.

The breakfast room was fairly small and the tables were small as well.

The WIFI soulution were great. You had to get a password (which was free) and then you'd get internett access. The speed was about 2 mbps I think for those who are wondering.. :)

The cleaning were great! After each room clean you'd get a little present. That could be som candy, bath salt etc.

I'd say it was a great hotel. You sort of felt that it was personal, compared to huge hotels. Friendly staff, great cleaning but a small breakfast room. I'll give it 4/5!

Stayed for a week in a double room. Room was good-sized for a city hotel, clean, with a modern bathroom. Slightly limited storage space. Lovely common area, where a free glass of champagne is served each evening. Friendly, helpful staff. Nice breakfast buffet, with a good selection of pastries, fruits, cheeses; freshly brewed coffee for each table. Location is perfect for a visit to London. Hotel is one block from a tube station on the Picadilly line, which goes from Heathrow into central London. Numerous restaurants and pubs within walking distance. Neighborhood is a quiet mix of residential and commercial, with easy transportation throughout the city via bus or tube. A very good value for the money. Highly recommended.
