2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

This is hotel with great location and good breakfast , but nothing more positive.
Room is from 70-s , extremely cold, +15C in room, old not closing window , no hot water only warm , elevator is only one with speed of snail. We slept in all clothes what we have. Be careful!!

This was my 2nd visit to the hotel, which I enjoyed with the staff who were friendly and very approachable. The room was on the 5th floor, which was excellent, very clean and plenty of space and also very quiet. Sure will visit again in the New Year.

Room Tip: Not over expensive for a single person. Enjoyed my 2nd visit, room on the 5th floor, very clean and...

For the 53 pounds I paid Norfolk Towers is acceptable - I only needed a place to sleep around Paddington ahead of an early flight the following day. If you want to swing cats, you should find an alternative; the hotel has small rooms, a tiny lift and inadequate wifi coverage. Reading other people's reviews and hearing of people paying over three times as much for the room worries me; this is a budget place to sleep and nothing else. 3 minutes walk from Paddington station. Noisy despite being on a side street.

I mistakenly booked the Norfolk Towers a second time recently. As I approached the hotel i realised my mistake having vowed never to stay there again ! plus points. Close to Paddington Station. The rest is not so good. Small check in receptionist ambivalent to a client that had a booking that the hotel did not recognise even though the customer had booking proof. A lift that took 5 full minutes to arrive then took an age to get to floor 5. Narrow corridors to our room, room being a loose description. Hot, even with the window open as far as it could be and the noisy fan running at full tilt( fan broke during the night). Wardrobe was a hook on the wall ! Two cheap single beds and a bathroom we could not close the door to. Pathetic dribble from the shower. I couldnt get out quick enough in the morning. Breakfast was squeezed into a small room downstairs. (this time we did not stay for breakfast). NOT a good hotel. My only mistake was booking it.

We stayed in this hotel at the end September 2012 (two couples, two double rooms). We were allocated 2 double rooms on arrival. The first room, had literally been freshly painted and was still wet. We presume this was to mask a large damp patch around a sagging ceiling. Obviously the room smelt badly of paint fumes. We were given a alternative room which was marginally better but v small and damp, with a very old uncomfortable bed. We could not initially check into our second room. When we tried later in the evening, the reception staff attempted to place us in the original painted room! We ended up with a more modern room on the 5th floor.
The hotels positive points were the very good location (within a 5 minute walk of Paddington station) very reasonably priced bar and a very good breakfast and helpful breakfast staff.
In summary, the hotel and rooms are beyond basic and dire need of modernisation (as started on the 5th floor). If we had paid a cheap rate for the rooms, we could have over looked the condition of the hotel and rooms, however, at £113 a night, is grossly overpriced. We would not recommend this hotel or stay here again.

Our Standard Rooms are of a traditional decor, yet if you are looking for a greater luxury then it's worth bearing in mind that we do also have our Executive Rooms, these were refurbished recently and are available to book on all booking websites and also from the hotel directly. we believe both our location and price are big positives with our hotel. With our location no more than a minutes walk from the station and high road this offers both excellent transport links and amenities.
Thank you.

This hotel is within a 5 minute walk of Paddington station and has a left luggage facility which you can use, as we did, if your flight arrives early before check n, or if you want to carry on sight seeing after check out time, which we also did. The staff were pleasant. The Continental breakfast was lovely and plenty of it - English was an additional £4. The room was extremely pokey and in severe need of a makeover - not really room for our cases, one stayed in front of the door which was a fire hazard. The bath was small. But the bed was comfortable. Outside you are right next to a range of cafes, pubs and small shops. Overall a useful place to be.

I have stayed in some odd places but this was the worst - the photo is of one of the four rooms upgrade - the rest are like a flea pit. I doubt it is even safe in case of fire or other disaster - do not stay.
