“5 Star service from fantastic team”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We booked a romantic 2 night stay (Friday/Saturday)to celebrate our anniversary in a deluxe double room.

After booking we received an email welcoming us from Daisy the Guest manager asking if she could help.I explained that we were staying for our anniversary and asked for a chilled bottle of Chablis to be in room for our arrival after work (6-7pm) and an hour long massage in Spa for the next day at 5-6 pm..

Daisy confirmed the wine would be supplied by the Hotel as a congratulation and arranged for a discount on the massages also!

As we neared the day we received regular emails providing information and an opportunity to contact.

The level of service was exactly what you expect from a 5 star hotel, from the moment we arrived by taxi- door opened bags collected, to the check in where we were upgraded to an Executive Room and greeted by Daisy's colleague Janine who explained Daisy was off shift.

With such a warm welcome we made our way to our room on the top floor, 605, right next the Presidential Suite and near the Club Lounge which is a loyalty feature that looked well appreciated by residents.

We were delighted to find our bed covered in a message "Happy Anniversary" set out in Red Petals- must have taken some time and a lovely touch.

The wine was chilling in an ice bucket and there was a selection of Petit Fore and Raspberry's on a slate with Happy Anniversary piped across also.

The room was very modern, comfortable but a little short on space - a standard Exec room but with some nice touches that elevated from the rest.An Ipad was very useful for both in room dining, ordering from Pillow Menu (recommend the moulding pillows - soft but perfect for a nights sleep), extra treatments in Spa and browsing web for restaurants - all with free broadband.

The shower was excellent, a variety of jets in addition to a waterfall style from ceiling.

Complimentary water and newspapers were welcomed.

We did not dine in the restaurants but the menu did look good (Only one issue all weekend - Ordered breakfast via Ipad but this did not arrive- removed from bill once we reported)

The Spa treatments were superb and just what was needed.

Throughout our stay the service was exceptional- Janine and Daisy checking we had all our needs fulfilled.

A great location and if you are looking for 5 start accommodation and service this is just the place

When we got to the hotel we couldn't fault it. We were warmly welcomed, shown to our room which was airy and light (110). All the staff we encountered were friendly and very helpful. My husband had a massage and said it was very good, he also enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea. There was lovely fresh fruit in the room. As we are a family we were given a room with a separate lounge with a sofa bed, it also had a second en suite shower room. which was a nice touch. Very nice toiletries (Hermes). We were also entitled to use the hotel Club Lounge due to the room category we were in, this too was very good with a good selection for the continental breakfast (didn't use it other times). The spa had a small exercise pool with current for resistance, this area too was very nicely kept. Very handy location for Marble Arch tube station and shopping for Oxford Street, also close the Wallace collection museum. All easy walking distance. Good quality modern hotel. I would stay here again and again.

We stayed at here for our daughters 13 th birthday weekend. The hotel helped make it a very special occasion by putting a cake and card in our room as surprise. The rooms are spacious and clean and staff and always on hand to offer advice in where to go or just a friendly chat as you come and go. Special thanks have to go to Laura and Janine .

Four of us went for lunch to celebrate my 60th birthday the staff were very welcoming as we stepped through the front door and continued when we went into The Crescent Restaurant
for our meal.Krystopher the duty manager was very helpful and made sure we had excellent service,we all enjoyed our meal very much and could not have asked for more. The music was supplied by a live musician playing a harp it was beautiful music and much better than the usual canned music we get.All in all it was a perfect afternoon.

Our first stay at the Montcalm, but definitely won't be our last. From our initial arrival we knew we were in safe hands, the welcome we received was everything you'd expect from a 5 star hotel. It was my wife's 40th birthday weekend, and the hotel had arranged an upgrade to the Park Lane Suite, stunning room! The bed had been decorated with rose petals, a personalised birthday cake and message from the pastry chef, complimentary fruit, wow, amazing touches! Spa was great too and every member of staff we met during our stay had the biggest smiles on their faces, like they actually enjoyed their jobs and were there to please every single guest. Close to tube and Hyde park, so a great central London location, we won't bother looking for a different hotel next time, it's a no-brainer!!

Room Tip: Park Lane Suite is fabulous, big tall windows letting in lots of light!

We stayed here for two nights in a Club double room and this is definitely a good hotel but since it is 5* and not cheap there are a couple of small niggles that stop it from being perfect.

Starting with the good things; the hotel is in a great location just up from Marble Arch and Hyde Park. It is set back from the main road on a small crescent and has a look of understated quality. Inside, the reception area is well designed and the staff could not be more helpful, indeed throughout our stay everybody was cheerful and always looking to the comfort of the guests no matter how long they had been on their shift.

Our room was a bit small but very well equipped with a comfortable king size bed, good lighting , complementary fruit and still water, reliable free wi-fi internet and use of an i pad. The bathroom was fine and again well equipped. However this is where the first niggle comes in due to the pop up waste in basin not working so you couldn't fill it up. We did not complain about this so I have no idea if they would have tried to fix it. The shower is great, powerful and easy to control.

The next niggle is that there were two small stains on the carpet and both of these items should be picked up by housekeeping in a 5* hotel.

One small comment on the design is that the rooms are modern, air conditioned but they have been created by internal double glazing inside the external facade and glazing which has been retained. The upshot is that you have complete control over the temperature of your room but there is no possibility of getting any fresh air in the room, also there is a lot of condensation on the old windows as the architect did not build in air circulation within the gap.

We had breakfast at the hotel but if we stay here again I wouldn't bother as it is pricey and although the selection is great the quality of the hot food is not up to a 5* standard. I judge a good breakfast by the eggs and the sausages and these are mediocre. A final comment regarding the breakfast is that their idea of butter for toast is weird in that is looks like whipped cream and has no real taste; however if you ask they will bring you a pat of actual butter.

All in all this is a very good hotel, with superb staff in a good central location and I would certainly give strong consideration to staying here again.
