“Good location, fab breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

Frequent travellers to London, having studied there. Would usually stay in the Russell but rate too expensive on this ocassion. The Hilton Euston is very well located easy walking distance to Euston mainline and underground, Kings Cross St Pancreas and Russell Sq underground. Although located on a busy street the rooms are quiet we were on second floor facing the street and not at all annoyed by street noise. The lobby and bar area is nice, bar food however is not great- the onion rings appeared to the frozen kind, however service was attentive and the wine list was not overtly expensive for a hotel bar. Check in was smooth, original room allocation was poor (room 209), room very small even for London standards and bed right up against wall. Called lobby and explained that room not suitable, staff arranged for transfer with no hassle. Not sure if being silver member of Hilton Honours meant any differnce.Transfered to room 212, this room was fresh and usual Hilton standard. Don't expect large rooms in London hotels especially in some of the older buildings. The rooms have adjustable a/c which is unsual for some of the older London buildings and a bonus because if you have to open the windows the road noise would be awful. I think the rooms must be recently redone.
Breakfast was a delight, attentive service. Presentation was great, and after a very poor showing at Hilton Belfast I was delighted to have faith in the Hilton Brand restored. Fresh fruit salad wonderfuly served in glass bowls. The hot food was regularly topped up, tables cleared quickly.
Will definately return, easy walking distance to centre of town or if lazy tube is very close by. I enjoy walking when in London as you get better feel for the city, being such a flat city it is a delight to walk around. Check out smooth, staff apologising for having to wait when none required. Will definately return if the price is right.

Room Tip: Avoid room 209 if travelling as couple as would have to climb over each other to get in and out. Don...

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to post a review on TripAdvisor regarding your recent stay with us.
I am glad to note that you were satisfied with your second room, unfortunately the shape and size of the bedrooms vary depending on their location within the property and being the hotel a listed building we are unable to make any change to the structure.
Thank you for your great comments regarding the breakfast and the staff and we do hope to be able to welcome you back on your next visit to London.

Best regards

Shaky Start but Good Stay

I booked a room at this hotel as it came with a great rate, including breakfast, and having stayed at many Hilton Hotels you get to know what to expect. This was the special occasion as we are meeting up with my son on his birthday and were going out to dinner.

When we were checking in it was explained to us that the room that we had booked was one of the smaller ones and that we could upgrade if we felt it was appropriate for a fee. No mention of this was made on the website when we booked it so I was not very happy.

The receptionist Monique was extremely helpful and took us to see the room that we had supposedly booked, which as some others have commented, is a small room where a double bed is pushed up against the wall and is not what I call a bedroom for two. We were then shown the second one, the one which we could pay to upgrade, and that was actually a standard bedroom as I would have expected.

Monique explained, as did the manager, that this was an old building which had some quirky rooms, the detail of which I was not the slightest bit interested in I just wanted to stay in a room that was big enough for two!

We go down to the reception to see the manager who, as I have said, explains why we have booked a bedroom, which in my opinion would not have been out of place in the YMCA, for the reasons discussed above. I made my feelings felt quite politely but firmly and we came to an arrangement where I could pay for an upgrade, which I was happy to do, but on the basis that we were given a significant upgrade which was excellent.

I have to say that the customer service I received from Monique and from the duty manager Llyas Wasti was excellent and turned what would have been a disappointing start into an extremely good stay.

I also have to comment on the breakfast which I have to say was excellent, lots of choice and the omelette that I ordered was cooked and dispatched to the table in a very efficient manner.

I would definitely go back and stay again but would need to make sure that we have a room which is suitable and the reason why I have the duty manager’s business card!!

Dear Guest,

I am very grateful for you taking the time to share your experience with us.
Due to the structure of the building the size and shape of the bedrooms vary depending on their location within the property and I would like to apologise that the size of the first room did not meet your expectations. Thank you for mentioning the great customer service received from Monique and Ilyas, your feedback has been taken on board and shared with the team.
I hope that you enjoyed your son’s birthday and we do hope to welcome you back soon!

Best regards

We have just stayed at this hotel for the third time. This time I booked through Late Rooms and got a very good deal for the two nights we were there. So much so that when offered an upgrade for £30 per night, decided to go for it. It was well worth it.
The room was huge and looked as though it had just been refurbished. It had all the amenities we required, and was in a very quiet location in the hotel.
Again we found all the staff friendly and very helpful. They really are are a credit to the management. It was also nice to see that many of the staff are the same as on our previous visits. Probably another result of a well run workplace.
The breakfasts are very good and a good start to a day of sightseeing.
There is no doubt that we shall return to this hotel when we return to London. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a welcoming and efficient hotel.

Room Tip: The staff will always try and accomodate clients with their room requests. Just ask!

Have stayed at this hotel a few times now and had a great stay each time. The hotel is two minutes from Euston Station so it is easy to reach central london on the tube. Check-in staff and breakfast room staff are very friendly and helpful. I will use the hotel again and again.

The double room only had room to edge around the bed. two people in this room would have meant one would have to climb on the bed to let the other pass. The double bed was actually two singles pushed together and this was noticeable when sleeping, making the bed ridged and very uncomfortable - I might as well have had a single bed. The bathroom was modern, clean, well equipped. The breakfast had a good variety of fresh food. The concierge was helpful. The bar closed early and drinks had to be ordered from the hotel Reception (on a Saturday night).

Dear Stephanie,
Thank you for posting your review on Tripadvisor. First and foremost I would like to apologise that the room size did not meet your expectations, however due to the age and history of the building the size and shape of the bedrooms vary depending on their location within the property. Had we been informed of your dissatisfaction during your stay, we could have arranged another suitable room for you.
Thank you for staying with us and trust we will have the opportunity to welcome you back.

The hotel is in a very good location which is next to Euston Park underground station, Euston underground station and the Euston National Rail train station. The staffs were very polite and friendly. The hotel setting maybe a bit old and tired, but the cosiness and cleanliness sure makes up for it.
