“Very good location but some flats can be noisy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

I have stayed a few nights at different dates to this cosy place. Location is excellent, close to the tube and convenience store -Sainsbury's- almost next door. However some apartments are much better than others, and it is a bit of a lottery to know what you will get. As most hotels in central London, buildings are dating and therefore expect noisy air conditioning and noise from the corridor, especially the fire doors that can be noisy if your flat is next to one of them. Flats are well insulated generally speaking anyway so minor annoyance regarding noise level. A good place to stay overall.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms close to lifts and make sure to ask what type of apartment you are getting.

Great location. Basic clean hotel. Close to subway. Pizza express in the same building. Good hotel for the price and a long weekend in London. Stayed mother and daughter in a 2 bed room. Good size room.

i have been there with my family for a long w-e.
very well located close to the tube.
closed to restaurants, take aways and a sansbury.
in 5 min you are in Oxford street and in 10 in Covent Garden.

i recommend this place if travelling there with your family

We stayed here for a week in October 2014. The location of the hotel is great for tourism. Holborn Tube Station has both the Central and Piccadilly lines, so you can get to many of the main tourism tube stations as well as Heathrow either directly or with minimal effort. Travel on foot to Covent Garden and Bloomsbury is also easy.

We liked having a kitchenette and the convenience of having two grocery stores (Waitrose and Sainsbury's) close by. The room itself was clean and well-kept and we had no trouble with street noise. The TV is very small and attached in a way that makes watching awkward, but for those who don't plan on spending much time in the room, it isn't a big deal. We were pleasantly surprised with the speed and reliability of the wifi.

My most significant criticism is that the front desk staff was not knowledgeable about basic services in the area. We asked for assistance several times and not only did the individual asked not have an answer, they didn't even try to come up with one. We stood in front of them and used Google on our phones and had better results. It was the kind of disinterest in service that I expect in Europe, but not in the UK. I still think that the benefits of the hotel (convenience, quality, etc.) outweigh this negative, but I can see it weighing more heavily for tourists without a working knowledge of London and access to the internet.

Location perfect, room and facilities excellent. I doubt we could have wanted more. From Heathrow we caught the Tube (straight through on the Piccadilly line). At Holborn tube station, there's escalators and one (!) lot of about 23 stairs to get luggage to the street level. Citadines is 2 mins away. We had booked direct and had a studio for 2 nights and with a kitchenette, plenty of room, nice bathroom, felt it was perfect. We didn't need the in house laundry that would have been welcome further on in our trip. So easy to get around by foot or Metro or bus from Citadines and easy access to shops, cafes, eateries. Ideal for our needs - clean, comfortable, good sleeping conditions, service friendly and all in a perfect location.

Room Tip: Book direct with the Hotel

I visit London regularly throughout the year and tend to spend quite some time choosing where to stay. After seeing the reviews for these apartments i was really looking forward to our stay, however i was very disappointed.
The location is good, a short walk from Holborn station, but on arrival the welcome was non existent. I felt annoyed before i even made it to the room. A little friendliness goes a long way with me.
The room was small and strangely arranged. The television could not be moved so you could not sit anywhere comfortably and watch it. There was nowhere to sit and eat a meal, other than a small desk with 1 chair!
The bathroom was okay with the exception of the bottom of the bath appearing very black. We tried to clean it but it wouldn't budge, so it's not to say that it hasn't been cleaned but its not exactly very nice to see.
The kitchen was fine, and we had everything that we needed, however we didn't bother to cook as planned as the room wasn't spacious enough to relax in.
We had something very noisy outside our bedroom window as well.
Overall, this apartment for me was very average compared to other places i have stayed in London, and i am very unlikely to consider returning. For the price, it is certainly not worth it, unless of course we were just given a bad room and the reception staff were having an off 2 days! The check out was as bad as the check in.
I spent another 2 nights in another apartment in Farringdon for less money, and the service was quite the opposite, so i will return to a place that i feel welcome.

For the price I got in Zone 1 and across from Holborn station and central to some of the bus routes, you cannot ask for more. The rooms are also spacious, none of that claustrophobic feel with most of the central London hotels of this range.

The room layout was well thought out, with clear segregation of the kitchen area from the living/sleeping space and they have a towel warmer in the bathroom, especially useful since I stayed at the end of November. The colour themes are light which makes the space look a little bigger.

Room Tip: If you like a quieter room, ask for one that is not facing the main road.
