I stayed at Base2Stay for 2 days in April. I was traveling alone to visit universities in London, and wanted to stay somewhere clean, safe, and with convenient access to the tube. Base2Stay met all these conditions and exceeded my expectations.

I booked a double room with bunkbeds online, as this was all that was available, but at the front desk I was able to switch to a single room without a problem. The room was very compact but well laid out, with a single bed, desk, flat screen TV mounted on the wall, built-in kitchenette and closet, and a fairly large bathroom with a great shower. Everything was clean and new. The decoration was tasetful and modern--it didn't have much personality but for 90 pounds a night I wasn't expecting it. It also had internet through the TV for free, which, while difficult to use, still allowed me to check and write email and browse the Internet. For convenience I ordered the breakfast box for an additional 3 pounds, and got a ton of food--cereal and milk, orange juice, nutrigrain bar, some sort of muffin/cookie.

The hotel is about a 5 minute walk to Gloucester Road tube station, but also convenient to the Kensington area--the V&A and Natural History museums are about a 15 minute walk. Nearby tubes are on the District and Circle lines, with easy access to Paddington station for the Heathrow Express.

Overall I thought this was particularly good hotel for the price. I've stayed in hotels in this price range in London before and found them to be a bit older and more dingy, so this as a great find.

Just back from a wonderful stay at Base2stay. Check-in was supposed to be from 3pm but when we arrived about noon Manuel on reception checked to see if our rooms were ready, they were not but he said he could have them ready by 1pm. We were in no rush so went off for some lunch, leaving our luggage - there was no mention of a left luggage service on the website - and returning at three. The room was a good size and extremely comfortable. We had a bathroom with bath and a strong shower, and the kitchenette was very handy for when you just need a proper cup of tea. Over three days I was at a loss to work out where exactly they've cut back on services to cut back on prices. The room was serviced everyday and the staff were brilliant. We had a slight problem with our tv service and it was dealt with instantly by the staff on reception while our stupidity in setting the safe was rectified straight away too. The location is wonderful: about two minutes from Earl's Court tube station (which is wheelchair accessible), on the Picadilly line - brilliant for both Leicester Square and Heathrow. The hotel doesn't have an on-site restaurant but it is a stone's throw from Earl's Court Road with its vast selection of eateries. A wonderful find, will most certainly be returning.

Absolutely loved this hotel, situated in a good location for london attractions as it was near the green park tube station. Hotel was good value and had luxurious but comfortable room for great value especially for london.

Clean, very comfortable bed and room, even though the room was small. Courteous and helpful staff. Incredible location.
