“Not a good experience”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013 via mobile

was staying in London for three separate trips, so wanted something close, relatively in expensive, but still with good facilities. the only thing that The President has a good location. it is easy to get to , but other than that! the experience we had is not good.
having stayed a total of three separate time frames, I had to complete the same registration every time and each time they wanted different information. The rooms are so tiny, there is nowhere to open two suitcases. The toilet never flushed correctly, and continued to block up. I will definitely be finding somewhere else to stay on my next vibist to London.

We stayed for 7 nights. Perfect location, Russell Square tube station just behind the corner, Tesco Express 24/7 just across the street, shopping mall with a bigger supermarket 3 minutes on foot. Rooms are very basic and small, on the other hand clean, everyday cleaned, towels changed. Nights are pretty noisy (especially neighbors). What we really did not appreciate was the continental breakfast - just toasts, butter, marmelade, and muesli with milk, coffee or tea, nothing else. After 2 days, we gave up and went eating out. Typical English breakfast was also served, but you had to pay £5 each every day. All in all, great location, pleasant staff, average 3-star hotel.

We stayed here for four nights in September.
The President was recommended by parents and aunt/uncle who have stayed here before.
Hotel is located near to Russell Square tube station which is on the Piccadilly line.
The hotel is ideally placed for everything in central London.
If you want a 5* luxury hotel, this isn't for you..... If you want a spotlessly clean hotel, in a central location with friendly staff then look no further.
The breakfast was buffet style, plentiful and busy therefore the food was regularly topped up and fresh.
No complaints whatsoever, in fact we would always stay here now..... ideal location and clean.

First of all, it was fifty quid for bed and breakfast and it's located within walking distance to most of the London attractions, as well as 3 of the main rail stations. It also sits right next to an underground station and they charge a measly 50p to look after your luggae for the day.
Saying that, there is a really strange smell in the foyer, like a giant fish fry has taken place, the hotel looks like it is still in the 1970's and it is only averagely clean with a few suspicious stains on the carpets.
Have stayed in a lot worse in London for a far greater price.

Stayed for 3 nights. Location is just behind Russell Sq so that's really convenient. King's cross is also walkable. Rooms are basic and clean. Breakfast is mass production so nothing fanciful there. A couple of nights here probably wouldn't hurt. Hotels around the area looks really nice but pretty sure will cost much more.

I have stayed here a number of times, the last time in September 2013. It is very good value for money for London. The Russell Square tube station is nearby as is a very pleasant shopping area with a number of cafes just down the road from the hotel main entrance. I like the buffet breakfast as it serves poached haddock which I love. The rooms are basic but have the essentials and the staff are very friendly. There is free wifi in the Atrium bar/cafe.

The better rooms are those overlooking Russell Square.

Room Tip: A room overlooking Russell Square, but it could be noisy

Two night stay Friday to Sunday.
Smooth checking in procedure
Rooms basic but clean
Only thing I would say is Breakfast was busy, would have preferred more choice of something that had real taste
Oh and a nice touch they can look after your bag on checkout day, and it only costs 50 pence
(Seriously to those people who moan what can't you get for that in London)
Would return here
