“Great Value, Stylish and Comfortable.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2011

My husband and I stayed at The Hide for three nights in a Classic Double Room. We arrived sometime after 11pm and the guy on the front desk couldn't have been more welcoming, despite the late hour. Our room was compact but very comfortable, and nicely decorated. Comfy bed, plenty of storage space, small fridge with free soft drinks, small safe and a decent-sized TV. The bathroom was very neatly turned out, with plenty of towels and lovely L'Occitaine toiletries. The shower was a little temperamental and leaky but still fine, with plenty of hot water.

The breakfast was included in the price and was good - simple but ample, with cereals, juices, breads and pastries, meats and cheeses, etc. The coffee wasn't great, but it did the job. The breakfast room was, like the rest of the hotel, very comfortable and attractive.

A minor drawback was the sound of traffic from the main road outside (we were on the ground floor at the front of the hotel), but it didn't disturb us hugely. We didn't go there for a room with a view, and the area itself seemed okay - the convenience store next to the Underground station proved useful for snacks (there were no restaurants open late when we arrived, and we were hungry!). I wouldn't recommend staying here if you're a traveller who wants to be in the centre of the action, but it's perfect for those who don't want to spend a fortune on a place in Central London, but still want easy access - the nearest Tube stop is Hendon Central on the Northern Line, two minutes' walk from the hotel.

All in all, a good experience in a smart little hotel!

The service at The Hide was world class. I had a single room and it was perfect for one person! I loved that the hotel provided water and sodas! The tube is right at the corner of the block (not even 100 yards)(Hendon Central-Northern Line). On my one night there I went across the street to the Hendon and then finished up the night at Gallery a few doors up. The english breakfast was not my bag of chips, but it was sufficient and delicious nontheless! All-in-all I do not see how anyone could say anything bad about this hotel!

This hotel was everything we had hoped for. We spent three nights here in mid March and everything was great. The room has sodas, water and snacks for free. The room is not huge but it has enough space to move around and we spent so little time in the room that is was never a worry.

The staff is tremendous. The hotel manager is so very friendly and very enjoyable to talk to. We talked to him for around an hour one night while watching the Chelsea soccer match on the TV in the hotel breakfast room. He was willing to do anything to make sure we were happy. The rest of the staff was also very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is about a 2 - 3 minute walk to the Hendon Central station and about a 25 minute ride into central London. The price is great and the hotel is very clean and modern.

I would definitely stay here again when visiting London.

We booked the hotel at the last minute and what a great surprise. Ample free car parking and we were told we could leave the car there for as long as we wanted on the day of check out as we had to go into London for a few hours. The tube is literally two minutes walk away and thens its only 25 minutes on the Northern Line into Central London.
The rooms were great and fitted out to a very high standard. We will definately be returning.

We arrived at The Hide early and were allowed to use the free parking prior to check in. The polite staff then informed us that we could check in early and to help ourselves to breakfast just while they cleaned our room.

The price of the hotel is fantastic in comparison to others in london. Lovely rooms and a nice buffet breakfast. Literally a couple of minutes walk away from hendon central tube and 20 minutes to get to the centre of london.

Would highly recommend this hotel.

I've stayed in enough crappy, over-priced s**tholes in London to know just what a gem the Hide London is. Yes, Hendon Central is a little out of the way, and I had to add an extra twenty minutes to my travels when I wanted to go anywhere central. But unless you plan to spend your time in London going back and forth to your hotel (why would you want to do that?), this is absolutely no problem, and the Northern Line takes you right down the center of the city. The service was friendly and very accommodating, breakfast was excellent, and the room was comfortable and modern without trying to be overly trendy and obnoxious. My room faced the main road, yet I slept like a rock. And the single room, which I expected from previous experience to be a closet with a tiny cot lodged into it, was bright, sunny, and surprisingly spacious. Great value and an entirely pleasant experience.
