My family and I stayed here two nights with our young son.
Our room with a deluxe king sized room, which had a good sized bathroom and a large bedroom area, which easily accommodated a cot and a seating area for us to use once our son had gone to bed. The bed and room was extremely comfortable. The style and decor of the room was as one would expect with the distinctive iconic look and feel. My only disappointment with the room was having to ring down and chase the cot that we pre-ordered - not sure why this was missed!
The staff at this hotel are excellent and from the receptionists, the door staff to the lift operator, they are all friendly and interested in making sure you are enjoying your stay. The lift itself is special, with a sofa seat and a lift operator perched on a stool. Little things like this make Claridge's such a unique experience.
The hotel also showed great attention to our young son, looking after the push chair whilst we had coffee in the lounge etc and there are good changing facilities on the ground floor. I wondered how 'toddler' friendly the hotel would be, but the staff and facilities are great for making you feel welcome.
In the surrounding areas are lots of little alleyways with pubs and coffee shops if you don't want to use the hotel restaurants. Location wise it is of course near Oxford street, but also well placed if you want to head across to Covent Garden or down to the Museums in South Kensington.
There is something very special about this hotel, its staff, decor, style and atmosphere all contribute to a great experience. I would definately recommend it if you want to stay somewhere unique for a special night away.
