“Small and unkept”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2014

As a family of 4 we were looking for an economic hotel. Friends had heard of the Crescent and passed on the information as an affordable hotel. We were to stay there for 3 nights but after the first night we checked out and went to the Hilton. The room was on the second floor and required we carry our bags up two flights of stairs. There were 4 single beds in the room with no room to put our luggage. The walls were paper thin, as we heard our neighbors throughout the night, and the toilet did not work. When we asked to have someone look at our toilet the receptionist advised that you had to old the knob down until the bowl was filled. When that didn't work she advised we needed to flush three times.

The room had not been cleaned in sometime as there was blood on two of the four beds.

Would not recommend this hotel for families. The rooms are tiny and the hotel is in desperate need of updating.

If you are visiting London and want to avoid the bland commercial hotels then this is the one for you. The hotel is situated in a Georgian style crescent and offers a stay that is quintessentially English. The setting is traditional and rooms clean and comfortable. A good communal room to meet other guests or relax. Plus of course full English breakfast in the old kitchen quarters complete with what might well be the original stove. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone wanting to stop over in London.

The Crescent Hotel is a lovely Georgian era building nestled into a row of several similar hotels in a mostly residential neighborhood near King's Cross/St. Pancras, UCL, The British Museum, and Russel Square. There is a fairly lively commercial area just one block away with plenty of mid-range restaurants, a few pubs, and general sense of youth and activity. The street is occasionally loud late at night when pubs let out (to be fair, we were there during The World Cup).

The room we had was clean and certainly perfectly fine for sleeping a family of four. It was VERY small, but we expected that and really only needed a room for sleeping. These aren't luxury accommodations, to be sure, but they are clean and pleasant-- with a good sense of architecture and history-- including oddly-shaped doors to accommodate the settling of the building and so on.

The wireless signal was weak and erratic.

Breakfast was plentiful and tasty, but certainly not fancy by any stretch. It was served by efficient, friendly staff. It includes bacon or sausage and eggs, but fewer baked options. The breakfast room is a little small for the number of guests and one morning we had to wait just a couple minutes for a table to open up.

The staff overall was competent, helpful, and generally friendly, if a little stiff at times.

Overall, this was a perfectly pleasant place to stay. It's strong points are definitely location and price!

I needed a hotel near to Euston station.
I got this at a cheap price and included Breakfast.
The woman on reception was friendly enough,Room was what I expected and shared bathroom and toilets very clean.
Breakfast was full English and nice too.
Bed was comfy,Tea and coffee facilities and a tv were there for use.
I would stay here again,I don't think you could find a cheaper hotel offering the same as the crescent and the Location is perfect,Just 5 - 10 minute walk from Euston Station.

Room Tip: If you are an older person as for a room as near to the ground as the stairs are very steep and narr...

After searching for so long for a decent, budget hotel in London, I finally booked at the Crescent hotel. I was kinda surprised when I got there with the good quality of the hotel. The room was really small and the stairs to get there tiny. The room itself though was comfortable, clean with a shower and sink was shich very convenient. The shared toilets were very clean as well. The location is very convenient as it's a walking distance from King's cross station. The breakfast was very good with cereal, toast, marmalade, eggs, bacon and sausage. The staff though is not very friendly but efficient. I also didn't have a safe in my room.

Small Hotel that punches above its weight. Located in a leafy crescent, beside a small park in Bloomsbury and only minutes away, on foot, from St Pancras International, Kings Cross and Euston stations. Surrounded by good pubs & eateries. Clean and well run, this privately owned hotel offers comfortable, affordable and clean. A good breakfast in a pleasant breakfast room sets you up (and saves money) for the day. The reception staff are lovely and provide a pleasant & helpful service. I almost hesitate to recommend this hotel so highly as it's always my first choice when visiting London and I'd rather keep it to myself. But that wouldn't be fair.

Room Tip: Rooms at the rear of the hotel are quiet - not so much those at the front. The rooms have no A/C...
