A waste of half an hour of a city break. May be good to shelter from the rain in the large foyer but not much else going for it.

I go to Tate Modern every time I'm in London and every time I discover something new and fascinating. I like to get there walking thought the Millennium Bridge, enjoying the views over the South Bank.
I believe it's one of the biggest modern art collections ever and, to make it even better, it's totally free (there's an entrance fee only for temporary exhibitions. Not to be missed.
Went to the Sonia Delauney exhibition, great exhibition and great gallery definetly good for people to get to know modern art.
If you are attending via public transport, you must be prepared to do a bit of walking and weaving through people. This is fine when it's a nice day as you can walk along the river.
These days you don't get much for free, this visit was another reassurance of that. Myself and my partner take great interest in art and were both left feeling we had wasted half a day. I am fully aware that the Tate Modern displays 'modern' art. However, to call what was displayed 'art' is an insult. Not only was the majority of what was displayed extremely laughable, there was also bare minimal there to see. Most rooms we walked into we found ourselves immediately walking out again. I would have liked to of seen the ticket exhibition but was unable to at the time.
If you enjoy looking at a white piece of blank paper on a wall, called 'art' then i would recommend going. Otherwise, i wouldn't rush to go.
Been to this museum several times now, we always cross via 'The Wobbly Bridge'. We love the sculptures. There is a nice café, although expensive and you can walk along the embankment for excellent views of St Pauls etc.
Yes, there is a lot of to see, but best of all Tate Modern is the buiding itself. I was little bit disapointed because of some type of reconstruction - I really want to see Hans Hartung and these type of art, but there was almost nothig. Yes, maybe next time - I will try it for sure, but this time not the best at all..
What I do like is a free entrance, nice gift shop and kind staff.
