“Lovely Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2014

We was on a works party, our group was about 26 people.
The hotel was really stunning, and most of the staff where exceptional.
The down side was. The room had too many pieces of furniture in and was cramped.
My wife and I was unable to use the hotel bar, the Door man (yes door man) said we had to wait, it was only when some regulars he new arrived that he said we could go in, just so he could also let this other group of 4 in. The bar men where indicating not to let anyone else in.
After waiting some 15 minutes for a drink we left as we was not looking like being served.
At Breakfast we was seated and asked if we would like any toast and orange juice. To which we replied yes to both.
After asking twice where these where we was finally handed the toast and drink.
When the breakfast arrived it look and tasted great, however it was barley warm, and once again we had requested sauces but these never materialised.

We was on a company night out and never had to pay for the hotel, but I know it is not cheap and so I would have expected better level of service.
We have stayed in many a hotel and some have had a lot lower rating, and a lot lower price than the Langham, yet the complete Service has been better.
I work in a customer related business, and it is all about Service then price !

Although our stay seems like a lifetime ago, i wanted to give feedback for future travellers contemplating booking this hotel. DO IT! Our stay was the start of a 7 week European holiday and have to say, out of all the five star hotels we stayed in - this was the most impressive. Excellent location, attentive staff, beautiful room (with the most comfortable bed), delicious cocktails to be had in the hotel bar, and just exquisite to look at from the outside. My husband and I will definitely be back soon.

The Langham hotel experience lived up to and exceeded my expectations. There is a perfect balance between a beautiful and grand 5 star hotel and friendly, cosy and comfortable environment. The service is fantastic, mostly because all the staff were subtly attentive and extremely helpful and polite without being overbearing or intimidating. Other hotels can make you feel like you don't belong because of their exclusivity, my favorite thing about this hotel was that it felt entirely exclusive but warm and friendly at the same time.

The location was perfect, we walked to dinner in soho, theatre in Haymarket, Selfridges and the British Museum.

We had a standard room which was generous in size with a king sized bed and a good sized bathroom. The room was full of extra touches that go above an beyond, a goodie box full of bits you may have forgotten, comb, talc, toothbrush, etc. When I asked how much the umbrella in the room was they said I could keep it, little things like this make me want to go back and write this review.

The price per night is competitive for 5 star hotel in London, but excellent value for money when you break down all the little touches.

We had breakfast in the Roux at the Landau restaurant both mornings, the food was beautiful with a fantastic selection, the fresh grapefruit juice was so delicious!

The cocktail bar was a great place to start and finish an evening, a little busy with a short wait on the Thursday evening, but they did everything possible to settle us with drinks as soon as possible.

The spa was lovely, free use of the pool sauna etc, a long and confusing walk from and back to our room (probably my only negative!)

I can't say enough about such a positive experience, I will be booking again, using the 10% off voucher I was given at check out, another little touch.

Room Tip: I phoned ahead and asked them to put a note on my booking that I requested a king sized bed. They ca...

A classically grand hotel in every sense of the word. Rooms were spacious, hotel staff were gracious and helpful, and the hotel itself has a nice aesthetic as well, with a tinge of age for good effect. They also provide a morning newspaper—good for keeping up with the times. Bed was very comfortable, a must wherever one travels.

The location is great; right at the top where Regent Street begins, so you can stroll your way out the door and down, down past Regent Street all the way to Piccadilly Circus and the West End, or to Oxford Street on the right. In the heart of London, and there's a tube stop, Oxford Circus, about five minutes' walk away.

This truly is a very grand hotel, it is a beautiful building with plenty of character.
The service was friendly and very good, although our room service was forgotten about so took a long time!
The rooms were luxuriously furnished and well stocked.
The Artesian - Amazing cocktails, possibly the most ornate of cocktails I've ever seen.. attention to detail, this bar is very popular in the evenings so car be full.
Location: Perfect for getting around London, it is off Regents street so basically a walk from everywhere.
I would stay again and would recommend it.

Great hotel. Stayed for one night in Dec to go Xmas shopping and as a treat and couldn't recommend it enough. THe hotel staff were friendly, the room was nice and luxurious and we were upgraded upon check in which was a nice suprise. We had breakfast in the La Roux and was amazing. Will definitely be back again to stay soon

My recent stay was full of mixed emotions - whilst the hardware is in need of a proper refurbishment the human touch reflects most of the time the very best of Asian hospitality. Our room was spacious but full of old and cheap looking furniture. I was amazed that the minibar was lacking traditional 5-star quality: Nespresso Instant Sachet - really????? Everyone else has at least a small Nespresso Capsule machine...Huge bathroom with serious limescale in the shower and a turn-down attendant that ignored the DND sign are the most prominent negatives. Our dinner at Roux was excellent, staff was knowledgable and friendly (most of them Italians) and excellent value for money - the chef's menue paired with wine (enough I guarantee) for £ 115.- is a safe bet to get the best from the menu. Spa-treatment was nice, some issues around the pre-and post treatment flow , but the massage was nice. Club Rooms and use of the Club is a great way to enjoy a more peaceful environment.
