“Fantastic collection of art”

Astounding collection of Baroque and Roccocco art and furniture, minutes from Oxford Street. Great, volunteer led guided tours available daily. Lovely atrium restaurant too, An oasis in the West End.

“Tea and scones with abundance of culture.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

I simply loved this venue. A lovely garden cafe and cream tea. Interesting musuem and a lovely garden to take in the sun with a glass of lemonade. All right in the heart of London. 5 minutes walk from Selfidges, Oxford Street and Marylebone village.

“A great small collection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

A terrific collection in an environment which is peceful and uncrowded (at least when I was there). I think it is one of the gems of London galleries/museums.

“Lovely”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

Beautiful collection of amazing things in the heart of London and yet in a very quiet location. The Wallace Collection is free but it is well worth making a donation although there is no pressure to do so. Lovely restaurant.

“Gobsmackingly Gorgeous”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

If you want to see the absolute best of the Fine and Decorative Arts in London, head straight to the Wallace Collection. Admission is free-of-charge but visitors are encouraged to make a £5 donation. All of the collections displayed are of staggering high quality - Old Master paintings (English, French, Italian and Dutch schools); French porcelain (as recently featured on BBC 4's programme 'A Passion for Porcelain'); armour and weaponry; early Italian maiolica; miniatures; be-jewelled gold boxes and other exotic knick-Knackery; furniture; clocks etc. etc. You will need at least 3 hours to do this museum collection justice - longer if you eat in the classy restaurant on- site. What a privilege to have such an amazing repository of the Arts displayed just a stone's throw from London's Oxford Street. The house is beautiful - lavish decoration and interior fittings. The shop stocks an amazing range of arts-related books as well as other souvenir items.
