“the best kept secret”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

Presenting the Wallace Collection in Hertford House, the London townhouse of previos owners-is so original. This small look like Palace-Museum in location one of a kind - is so perfect.Collection now is is a national museum with huge- for two centery collected art tresury, as a kind of gift to British nation by Lady Wallace, in 1897.I bought book in gift shop.
When I heard thet they begun to re-appraise Murillo - pointing his importante position in European Baroque, I realise what a chance is to see this .Lately so many books and exbitions are doing to promote and restore with the artist as well- the painter’s reputation. Murillo’s expressive technique - warm and specific colours in his late stage shows how he was using sfumato techniques. Murillo was very famous for his paintings of religious and everyday life pictures and it is perfect chance to see this perfection from so gifted master.
This fabulos colection and whole place - hard to find anywhere- need to be seen. You need time to see and enjoy , explore and have a grate time.It was not my first time but not last as well to visited this grate place.
This is the best kept secret.

“Great collection, beautiful building”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

It was worth finding this place - what a fabulous collection! I'm not an art junkie, but these were great pictures and even I recognised many of them. The interiors of the rooms would have been worth the visit on their own and the afternoon tea in the cafe was divine!

“Around the world in 80 minutes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

Probably the most condensed collection in the world. Allows you to visit just one museum and then never bother again in your life. Old world, new world - and armour, amour and history. If this was a shop it would be the Harrods of antiques, culture and weaponry.

“Manchester Square Museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

Situated in Manchester Square this is a free and absorbing museum. Excellent paintings including works by Canaletto wonderful collection of snuff boxes furniture and a very large Armory. The exhibition includes The Laughing Cavalier by Frans Hals - you will not see this painting in any exhibition outside this collection - it is always in the collection here. A short stroll from the bustling streets of the West End. Not to be missed.
