“Impressive”

Wide collection of exhibits, from fashion to furniture to glass and many other topics. Definitely worth a visit, together with National history museum and science museum which are just next to V&A!

“Bowie Is Exhibition”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2013

Wow wow wow. If you can get a ticket to see this exhibition do it now because you may never see all these costumes and Bowie artefacts in the same place again, it is no wonder the the exhibition is almost sold out for the run. On arrival you are given a headset which is triggered web you walk past an exhibit. The only drawback are the number of people going around at the same time as you. The highlight at the end is a ginormous screen at least 4 stories high showing clips of his performances. Once you leave they have a small shop selling Bowie mementos, very over priced, the main book is £35 but we got ours off of amazon beforehand for £19.

“David Bowie is.. disorganised and confusing!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013

This was a family trip on a packed Wednesday in the Easter holidays. I am a big Bowie fan. The exhibition does have some amazing items and the sound quality is great, but I agree with a previous reviewer that the streamed headphone sound boundaries were blurred if you couldn't get close to the exhibits because of the volume of people. Some of the sound didn't come through the headphones. I also found the way in which the organisers arranged the "DB is.." themes darted back and forth in time which was confusing especially for the teenage daughters. The same issue with the themes applies to the beautifully presented exhibition book.

“A rare free treat!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013

Went to visit the Natural History Museum but with a 1 1/2 hour queue on a cold day we decided to give it a miss and visit the V&A. What a treat! No queues and free entry (other than the Bowie exhibit and National Treasures). So much to see! The Middle Eastern photography exhibit was fascinating and very thought provoking. Lots of religious exhibits... Christian, Buddist, Musilm and more. The building itself is truely beautiful, I just couldn't believe the extent of it. the staircases in themselves, dating from when the building housed arts and science colleges, is worth a visit.

We will be returning as there is so much to see... and don't forget the fashion exhibition!!!

“Great Clothing Exhibit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013

We were there for the clothing exhibit which was well worth paying extra for. It ranged from Regency England to about the 1970's.

The clothes from the Regency period were especially important to my sister because she does English Country Dancing and was looking at the clothing. With the popularity of Downton Abbey, the clothing fo rthat ear was popular too. I could've spent much more time there. One drawback: the restrooms were quite dirty.
