“More than a Tower.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2013

Having no beforehand knowledge of anything English, I definitely thought the Tower of London was just a tower. IT'S NOT. It's this huge walled structure that is pretty much a castle. There is so much to see and do once you get pass the gates! It's definitely a fun AND education attraction--- great for kids and teenagers. I recommend seeing the Crown Jewels; all that glitter is impressive. You can roam around here for hours and not be bored.

“Can Fill Your Day!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013

This is a great place to spend a day...at least half a day for most people! So much to see. If you truly are interested in british history then hours can be spent here. From the Crown Jewels (simply magnificent), to the better know spots like the White Tower, Bloody Tower, Royal Beasts, the Yeoman's Tour etc., to the lesser aspects of it, there is much to learn and appreciate. Hours can be spent viewing and reading the many, many exhibits in the White Tower, plan on it. But I need to recommend taking time to visit (not miss) the Fusilliers' Museum, we almost bye passed it in a hurry to get to the White Tower after the crown Jewels as the crowds were getting larger and larger, but we decided to take it in and were glad we did....see for yourselves. I also recommend doing a bit of homework on the tower as there are so many years of history covered in the exhibits, you will be glad you did. An example would be studying what transpired over the years in the Bloody Tower. It is a very simple, small room with little in it, but when you know some of the main historical happenings that occurred there, well, it brings it's own atmosphere with it.....see if you experience this when you are there....unsettling so to speak. Be sure to see the Raven!

“Probably London's most popular attraction”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013

There are few places in the world oozing with as much history as this 1,000 year old building. That in itself is sufficient reason to visit, but clearly, from the crowds, one of the main draws is the exhibition of the Crown Jewels - probably worth more than some countries!

“A must see in London”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013

We were fortunate to be in time for one of the 'Beefeater' tours. It proved to be a wise decision. An informed and humorous comentary throughout the tour kept us totally engaged. Afterwards we took in the Crown jewels which were quite spectacular. Thought the moving viewing platform a particularly great idea to deal with stalled gawkers. The Tower is a must see when visiting this great city!

“Besieged!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013

We had a great day at the Tower of London in an unusually cold March. The ticket line was short and there was no fuss using the 2 FOR 1 national rail promotion. The cold probably played a role in keeping the lines down and giving us a run of the place.

The Crown Jewels exhibit has been redesigned since I visited in 2008, I find the redesign to be very helpful in getting a good look at each crown - the crown room is amazing.

We wandered around at our own pace and enjoyed most everything. We grabbed coffee at the cafe and got out before the cafe was overran by the lunch crowd. All and all a great place to visit.
