“Day tour to Leeds Castle, Canterbury and Dover”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

My wife and I took this day tour through "Evan and Evans Tours" on our recent visit to London. They arrange hotel pick up, which made this easier for those not familiar with the coach station the tour leaves from. Our guide Monica was great and she had such great information about all the stops on the tour. With the stop in Canterbury to see Canterbury cathedral, Monica walks you through the cathedral giving you a detail and informative walk through. All other stops are done with you to explore on your own, including shops and restaurants.
The Castle, Canterbury and Dover were all enjoyable and if your fortunate to have Monica as your guide, that is a plus. Highly recommend for those visiting London.

“Very informative tour!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

My husband and i took Evan Evans tour- Leeds castle, Canterbury cathedral and Dover tour today. It was a lovely tour, even the weather cooperated with us. We were impressed with our tour guide's knowledge of the places we went to and even the places we passed by. We learned so much from her.
Leeds castle is a splendid place. I was fascinated with its interiors and its well kept grounds. Canterbury cathedral, Romanesque gothic architecture, is captivating. Our tour guide walked with us inside the church while discussing on the cathedral's history. Last stop, Dover cliff. It was a short stop , but enough time for us to enjoy the beautiful scenery.

“Castle, Cliff & Cathedral - all in a day”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

This combo tour is ideal for those short of time. 1st stop Leeds Castles. Apparently the most beautiful in the world, but take that with a pinch of salt.
Advantage of being on the Evan Evans coach is that u get driven right to the castle entrance, else it's a longish walk from the gate.
Next stop Dover - it was meant to be a drive under the white cliffs, but the road was closed. I suspect the driver and the guide knew about this, but didn't tell us till we got there. So no close up view.
Last stop Canterbury cathedral - guide walk through was good. Stained glass windows scintillating.

“Leeds, Canterbury, and Dover”

Tour guide (Elise) was rude, unorganized and uninteresting. She read from a script word for word. She gave instructions that were unclear. Was not a good day. Was forced to take a boat ride that we did not want. Was just dropped off in the city far from our hotel.

“Not Impressed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

I was disappointed with our tour guide. He told us the basic history of Canterbury Cathedral on our way there, then when we got inside, he told us the same story. We were then left to explore the rest of the church on our own, and we soon discovered that the rest of the church was closed to visitors for a service. When I told the guide, he said he didn't know about the service.

The most frustrating part: the tour guide gave us the option to visit the Cathedral before lunch. Had we known that many parts of the Cathedral would be closed to visitors later in the day, we definitely would have visited before having lunch.

There were 4 options for lunch (fish and chips, chicken and chips, beef stew, and baked potato). The fish and chips was lackluster. I would have preferred to pick out my own lunch spot, Canterbury has plenty of dining options.

I would not recommend this tour to a friend.
