“sheer luxury - although at a price!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2012

We treated ourselves to a night at this hotel because we were going on the Eurostar next day, and as things turned out, it was a wonderful experience in itself. The room are huge, comfortable, have every conceivable extra and there are plenty of friendly, helpful staff around the place. We ate in the hotel club (it came as part of the room deal) and in future we would not bother. The food wasn't special and was more limited that the offering in the restaurant. The hotel pool is a disappointment - more jacuzi than pool - but the building is quite amazing and the blend of old and new style is very impressive indeed.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms on the British Library side of the building - they are a little noisy despite valiant at...

I did not stay in the hotel so cannot review what the rooms etc are like but it is a truly beautiful building. I went for Afternoon Tea for my sisters birthday. It was very easy to find as you can enter the hotel from inside St Pancras Station.
We were unsure at first of where to go but the staff were so helpful and walked us through to the area we needed to be in rather than just point the way. We had a table for 2 with extremely comfy soft chairs. My only complaint was that the table was very low so eating was a bit awkward.
Our Afternoon Tea consisted of a plate of sandwiches each, made especially to meet our requirements as we are both vegetarian, a pot of tea each, 2 scones with jam and clotted cream each and a tray of small cakes/ tarts each. We were extremely full by the end of it!
The staff were all so pleasant and helpful, which makes a change from some places I have been recently. They could not do enough for us.
I would recommend this afternoon tea as a treat as it is not something I could do regularly. The price is also average for that part of town.

We spent two nights at the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel, and we wished we were staying in London longer, so we could have enjoyed more of this wonderful hotel! The staff, to a man/woman, were wonderful. They were helpful, knowledgeable, welcoming and unfailingly polite.

Our room was quite comfortable, and it wasn't one of their fancier, more expensive rooms. Still, the amenities were excellent, the bed was quite comfortable, and the bathroom was both elegant and functional.

With its location at Kings Cross-St. Pancras, you have access to rail lines (notably, the Eurostar), as well as 6 lines of the Underground. Having these lines steps away makes it easy to go almost anywhere. We ran all over London in our two days there, and every journey was easy to plan!

Location, comfort, great service... what more can anyone ask? We'll be back!

I love this place! It's SUCH a gorgeous building, the service is great, the rooms are amazing (spotless, spacious, comfortable beds, etc.), and the breakfast is huge and delicious. I could have never left the hotel and been happy with my trip - but of course I did leave and definitely appreciated the location. Next door on the right is the British Library, next door on the left is the King's Cross Tube station and easy access to all of London. It's also ideal if you're taking the Eurostar, which we did at the end of our time in London.

5 stars on everything except value, which I don't feel qualified to rate as I stayed for free with my dad's Marriott points. (Breakfast was free as well since he's a gold card member.)

The hotel is convenient and charming. I've stayed here twice, both times on the fourth floor of the Barlow Wing. Views vary: on one side you have a view of the side street next to the British Library, on the other side you have a view of a roof top. The rooms are modern and roomy. The "twin" beds are much larger than a standard twin bed and very comfortable. The bathroom had a tall bathtub which did require some care in getting in and out. Figuring out the workings of the shower took some thought.
The highlight for me was the Chambers Lounge. This is undoubtedly the best executive lounge I have encountered. Great breakfast served early (0630), snacks throughout the day, afternoon tea, and drinks in the evening. The attendants were always friendly and welcoming.
Great hotel for connecting to the Eurostar (which is literally out the door) and Kings Cross station which is across the street.

We stayed at this hotel after our return from Paris on the Eurotrain. The hotel is very nice and newly remodeled. The location is great as you can access the hotel from the train station. They offer a very nice bar and restaurant along with a tea service.

The rooms are clean, nice and spacious.

I recommend this hotel and will be back.
